Natural Baby Bedding

Natural Baby Bedding was written by Kent Pinkerton and he says "Natural baby bedding is an array of bedding materials made to offer a good and deep sleep for your baby. The bedding is made from any of the naturally available materials such as cotton, wool, silk, or linen.

Cotton, which is a widely used fabric, offers good air circulation and high durability. Most baby bedding is made of 100% cotton. It can be machine-washed and dried quickly. Wool is a natural fiber and another excellent material that helps to keep your baby warm. It is also very durable and soft. Wool baby bedding should be dry-cleaned, except if mentioned otherwise..

If looking for a luxurious natural baby bedding, select silk, as it is a natural fiber made from protein and has a beautiful appearance. It is very soft to touch and gives a luxurious look to your baby's bed. Linen is another natural fiber used in manufacturing natural baby bedding.

Most caring mothers prefer cotton and wool products, which are considered the best. Natural baby bedding offers a comfortable sleeping area for your baby in a non-toxic environment. This baby bedding facilitates regulation of body temperature and helps the baby enjoy a good night's sleep.

Natural bedding materials are free from allergens and are made in beautiful colors and prints. Baby bedding is manufactured with great care so as to assure supreme quality, purity, and safety. They are also dust and mite resistant.

Always choose a material that is best suited for your baby and that suits the decor of the room. You can buy natural baby bedding suitable for your baby's cot, crib, or toddler's bed. Baby bedding includes matching quilts, blankets, bed covers, bumper pads, pillows, and comforters.

How to Choose Bed Sheets Effectively

How to Choose Bed Sheets Effectively was written by Lucy Izuogu and she says "Buying sheets is not as easy as it used to be or should be. There’s such a wide variety of styles, colours and fabrics to choose from. You may go to a store wanting plain white cotton sheets but end up so confused because you have so many different types of cotton, that you may go home with the wrong one (in most cases) or end up buying something you don’t want.

The amount of time you’ll find yourself spending in trying to choose the right type of bed sheet can be VERY frustrating and buying online makes this process even harder because you can’t FEEL how soft/rough the fabric is. Frankly speaking, most people would rather spend that valuable time doing something else..

Well, here are a few pointers you should keep in mind when you want to buy sheets for your bed or anybody else’s bed for that matter. These are just a few simple ‘rules of thumb’ for selecting the right sheets. Once you understand these, there’s no reason why you should not be able to choose the best sheets for yourself, your family and guests each and every time. You can literally order online as though you went to the store in person.

So here we go…in order of importance, here's what you should look for when shopping for sheets:

1. The Weave

The very first thing to consider when buying ANY type of bed linen is the weave.

Simply put, the weave describes the way the individual fibers of the fabric have been woven or twisted together when the fabric was being made.

For example, if the fibers have been twisted together very tightly, then you get a sturdy fabric, but if the fibers were twisted together loosely, then you get quite a flimsy type fabric.

So in other words, the weave of the fabric will determine how crisp, smooth, wrinkly (especially after wash), cool (on the skin), soft, warm, clingy, durable and even how shiny your sheets will be.

2. Thread Count

The next thing to consider when shopping for sheets, after the weave, is the thread count.

The thread count is the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric and can range from 180 to over 2000 threads per square inch. The higher the thread count, the softer the fabric.

When shopping for a sheets look for thread counts of between 200 – 250 as a bare minimum. The higher this figure gets, the more luxurious the bed linen!

Sheet prices are based on the thread count. The higher the thread count the more expensive the sheet.

Caution:
Although a high thread count would normally mean that you get a better quality of sheet, please don’t consider thread count alone when making your buying decision. Remember that you may get a fabric with high thread count but of poor fabric quality and inferior weave! So consider everything if you want to buy the best.

3. Length of Fibers

The best types of sheets have a high thread count, good weave and are made with long fibers. Long fibers give sheets a silky smooth feel.

If you want fabrics that have long fibers and are generally smooth to the touch, you should look for Egyptian, supima and pima cottons. These cottons have the longest fibers around (Egyptian cotton has the longest fibers from group).

4. Standard Fabrics for Bed sheets

Fabrics come in two types; natural and synthetic.

Natural fabrics, like cotton, silk, linen and wool, are made by nature, whereas synthetic fabrics (nylon and polyester) are man-made.

As a general rule, natural fabrics are more breathable and most people find them more comfortable.

Synthetic fabrics are good value for money and are generally warm.

When choosing fabrics, quality is a must. Always look for a good combination of weave, thread count and fibers. Again, to make your life a just little easier, here’s a list of some standard fabrics used in sheeting at present:

Cotton in general:
Excellent for comfort and durability. A natural fabric which is very breathable.

Egyptian Cotton:
The highest quality cottonavailable. Very long fibers, giving it great softness, luxury and smoothness. Feels great against the skin!

Supima and pima cottons:
Also have long fibres and feel soft and smooth to the touch.

Cotton and Polyester combination:
Although the polyester can pill over time, these types of fabrics wrinkle less and are easy to iron. The polyester adds durability to the fabric.

Silk:v As you know, silk is the QUEEN of luxury. This is also a natural fiber. It's value is measure on it's weight (it's called the 'momme weight'). The higher the momme weight is, the better the quality of the silk. An average silk sheet would weigh between 10-12 momme fabric.

Before you rush off to buy sheets for your bed, you must know what size sheets your bed will take! If you don’t, you’ll be wasting your time.

So be prepared. You should also measure the height of your mattress and keep this information with you when you choose your sheets.

Here are the basic sheet sizes you should keep in mind:

Twin: flat (66 x 96 inches), fitted (39 x 75 inches)

Full: flat ( 81 x 96 to 100 inches), fitted (54 x 75 inches)

Queen: flat (90 x 102-106 inches), fitted (60 x 80 inches)

King: flat (109 x 102-106 inches), fitted (78 x 80 inches)

California King: flat (102 x 110), fitted (72 x 84)

Choosing A Loft Bed For Your Child

Choosing A Loft Bed For Your Child was written by Veronica Wilson and he says "If you have a young adult entering college, a loft bed may be an affordable and practical solution to cramped living quarters such as dormitories or off-campus studio apartments and other shared living arrangements. Since loft beds are simply raised platform beds with an area underneath for desks, entertainment centers, or to use as play areas, they are also ideal to maximize living areas for younger children who share rooms. However, it’s important to familiarize yourself with federal regulations and keep the following safety standards in mind when purchasing loft beds or bunk beds for small children:

* Child’s Age and Height: Your child should be at least two years old and at least three feet tall..
* Child's Preference: If your child expresses a fear of high places, perhaps bunk beds might be a wiser choice where one child can sleep comfortably on the bottom bunk while another occupies the top.
* Quality: To avoid injuries look for well-constructed, durable frames constructed of solid pine or hardwoods.
* Placement: Loft and bunk beds should not be placed against windows. Attach to the wall for added safety.
* Mattress: Use the correct size mattress. If it’s too small it can cause the child to fall between the mattress and frame and if it’s too large it can overlap or cause damage to the guard rails.
* Guard Rails: Even though one side of the bed is against the wall, both guard rails should be utilized to ensure the child’s safety. Many injuries occur when the child falls between the bed and the wall.
* Ladders: Firmly attach ladders to the bed and be sure they are sturdy and dependable. Improper installation and poor quality leads to injury.
* Rules and Guidelines: Children should be instructed to adhere to safety precautions at all times, especially when ascending and descending ladders.

Of the many attractive styles and designs of bedroom furniture to choose from, loft beds featuring built-in desks and drawers are the most popular with children and college students alike. They define the child’s personal living area and add functionality to the décor while providing a fun and exciting area for your child to sleep, do homework or play.

Use bedroom planners and take accurate measurements. Many retailers will deliver the furniture within days and set-up in minutes. Shopping online is now safe, easy and convenient and many questions can be answered immediately with live chat or from the FAQ’s section. Remember to wrap it all up with colorful and distinctive sheets, blankets, pillows and comforter coordinates!

Kids Beds – Think Strong, Safe and Space Saving

Kids Beds – Think Strong, Safe and Space Saving was written by Lee Cooper and he says "when buying a new bed for your child you should first of all consider three very important elements – strength, safety and space!

Pick a Strong Bed

Kids beds get used as tents, trampolines and castles nearly as regularly as they get used for sleeping in, so first of all it's a good idea to make sure they can take some rough treatment. Thick metallic frames are often a stronger alternative to wooden framed beds. Similarly, a springy metal underside will hold up much better to a child’s eager pogo jumping than thin wooden slats. To minimise painful bumps and bruises, aim to cover all hard surfaces with padding or cushions..

Pick a Safe Bed

Make sure your child’s bedroom is a safe place to play and sleep by taking the necessary precautions with their bed. If opting for a bunk bed, ensure that the outer perimeter has a large enough safety rail to prevent any nasty tumbles. Bunk bed ladders should be designed with grips in order to prevent any slipping whilst ascending or descending. Also look to avoid any beds with sharp edges or areas where fingers can potentially get trapped such as non-safety hinges.

Pick a Space Saving Bed

Because children’s bedrooms tend to be smaller than adult bedrooms, and kids generally have more stuff in their rooms, they need to offer maximum efficiency of space. Popular space saving solutions are single beds with built-in drawers or a single unit bunk/study area. Single unit bunk beds with an underside study area allow kids to do their homework without taking up any excess space, or can alternatively be used for storage purposes. Single beds with built-in drawers are a fantastic storage solution and have safety benefits by removing the amount of clutter from the bedroom floor.

Other Considerations

You should also look to pick a bed that will bring an element of fun to the child’s bedroom. Choosing a bed that the child enjoys using will encourage them to go to bed a lot more willingly and can save you numerous hours of persuasion and negotiation! There are a number of beds available today that are designed to look like cute animals or exciting vehicles that most children will be happy to sleep in or play on. Alternatively, you could choose bedding that features a favourite cartoon character, football team or any other happy element that will promote sweet dreams and a great night’s sleep!

Bunk Beds Ideas

Bunk Beds Ideas was written by Dean Cecere and he says "Have you ever considered the idea of buying a bunk bed? There are many styles to accommodate your needs whether it be for your home, a dorm room, gift or a variety of other reasons. A bunk bed can be a fantastic solution for a room that has no space to spare. These types of beds can be extremely practical in many different situations such as a home where children share a room, a student dorm room, a business staff accommodation and even save a lot of space at the cabin or cottage.

A bunk bed is found more often than not, made of wood, but can also come in metal. There are many types to choose from depending on what you need it for. Types of bunk beds include L-shaped, triple bunk beds, twin over full bunk beds, standard and loft bed types. Also check out a trundle bed, which may be particularily useful for kids who like to have sleepovers, as it slides out from below your child's exhisting bed like a drawer. These types of bed have the ability to make a small room appear quite large, and feel like that too..

With a bunk bed, many people have a concern with safety. Well, before you purchase one of many bunk bed styles available, you want to make sure that it is sturdy. Some good quality stackable beds can support 400 lbs per bed, which means they are not only for children, they are also great for adults. Please take the time to enquire about the different lengths available for you, as they really are a great way to add space and style to a room in your home.

Bunk Beds

Bunk Beds was written By Peter Emerson and he says "After a hard day, most people want to retire to the comfort and privacy of their rooms. Here, they can relax and lounge about in their beds. It is no wonder that the bed has become one of the most popular and most useful pieces of furniture in the house. Different people are partial to different kinds of beds. But in choosing a bed, most will consider its comfort, its design and how it saves space.

Why tent bunk beds

In terms of space efficiency, a bunk bed is a good choice. It is simple and straightforward in design, yet comfortable enough to hold its own among its more lavishly-made counterparts..

What are bunk beds? Bunk beds are also called double-deck beds. They are two beds stacked one on top of the other, through a specially designed bed frame. This stable frame supports the weight of the two beds so two people can lie down comfortably in the same vertical space.

Using a bunk bed is a good way to maximize a bedroom's floor area. To get to the top portion of the bunk bed, there is a ladder that is either attached to or separate from the bed frame. Bunk beds are often found in children's rooms, residence halls of universities and colleges, ships and trains.

A tent bunk bed is a form of bunk bed. This kind of bed is usually used in children's rooms that have camper themes, though it is whimsical choice for teen and even adult bedrooms. A tent bunk bed is built just like the usual bunk bed, only it has a cloth material draping over it. This material covers the whole bed frame like a tent, thus its name. The added cloth is mostly for aesthetic purposes.

If you are interested in looking for tent bunk beds, you may try searching online. Tent bunk beds come in various designs and colors.

Decorating Children's Bedrooms

Decorating Children's Bedrooms was written by Kathy Passarette and she says "If you are planning on decorating your child’s bedroom, to avoid fights, hassles and headaches, let them be involved in the planning stage. As parents, we tend to put our likes and dislikes on our children. However, children have minds of their own; they have their own likes and dislikes. We learned this when they were two, and the “terrible two’s” commenced. You don’t want to do a “Princess” theme room for your daughter who’s a tomboy, and would rather play baseball than dolls, or a sports theme room for your son, who would rather play chess than catch.

I have clients, a married couple with two young daughters no older than ten years of age. The couple prefer Contemporary decor in their home. They allowed their daughters some new things for their rooms, such as comforters, window treatments and pictures. While the youngest picked something they felt was “appropriate”, and in keeping with their style, they were totally shocked that their oldest liked the Shabby Chic style. To their credit, they allowed her to decorate her bedroom in her choice of décor..

We have to remember that although it’s our house, it’s their room. Children spend a lot of time in their rooms and it should reflect their style, not ours. What a great gift you are giving them to allow the use of their creativity as an outlet to decorating their own space. This is probably one of the first things they can do that will allow them to be an individual. You still need to guide them, as these decisions are made, to watch budget, safety and growth potential. (By growth potential I mean that if your child decides on a style of window treatment and fabric, make sure that the window treatment being picked at age 8, will grow with them to age 16. So maybe the style of the window treatment is okay, but the fabric needs to be more age neutral.)

Think about storage – kids have a lot of stuff, from the time they are babies up through the teen years. Storage and organization should be a number one priority when decorating your child’s room. Luckily, there are so many versatile and stylish storage solutions available now that you and your child should be able to find something that not only fits their room décor, but also is something that they will actually use to keep their room neat.

Include their hobbies and interests in the décor of their room, but don’t make a theme out of it. “Less is more”, and those little touches will stand out. Keep awards and trophies limited to current ones, and keep them in one area of the room rather than spread out all over. Make sure they have a desk to do homework, or write in their journals, with a sturdy desk chair that allows them to reach the surface of the desk comfortably. Finish off with an upholstered chair for reading and adequate lighting for all tasks.

Letting your children be a part of the decorating process of their bedrooms, will not only be adding to the beauty of your home, but you and your children will be happier for it.

7 Feng Shui Fundamentals for Children's Bedrooms

7 Feng Shui Fundamentals for Children's Bedrooms was written by Kathryn Weber and she says "Feng shui is a very popular and intriguing concept in home design today. In addition to the life benefits it provides, it also offers a roadmap, so to speak, of not just how to decorate... but why. In short, it offers you, the homeowner, design with purpose. For a child's room this purposeful design is especially important.

Feng shui gives parents a guide for decorating your children's bedrooms, and perhaps more importantly, a reason for adding particular elements -- something standard decorating practices don't always offer. What does that mean exactly? Well, when it comes to a child's bedroom, feng shui dictates everything from correct bed alignment, proper bedroom choice, essential decorating and design elements, i.e., do's and don'ts (no vicious animals, etc.) for a child's room, even how to influence the child to be studious and well-behaved -- all things most parents would appreciate knowing..

The purpose of feng shui in a child’s bedroom is the same as every parent’s objective in decorating their children’s rooms: to create a healthy, happy environment that fosters education, good health, happy relationships with parents and siblings, and respect for parents. Children and parents can enjoy success and healthy relationships if the environment supports them.

Naturally, children must feel safe, secure, and cared for to thrive. By putting interest and effort into your child’s room, you are showing your child that you believe the child’s space, and therefore, your child, is important. The tips presented here are some of the fundamentals of feng shui for children.

1.Place a happy picture of the parents in the children’s rooms.
This subtly exerts the authority and prominence of the parents as heads of the household. It is also one of the quickest and most effective ways to bring a problem child into line.

2.Align the child’s bed to the widest part of the room.
Make sure your child can see the door from his or her bed easily, but is not in direct line of the door. Your child should also not share a wall with a toilet or see a toilet or bathroom from the bed as this can cause health problems.

Bunk beds are not advised. If possible, try to have a separate bedroom for each child. If this isn’t possible, there are lots of decorative ways to create division and privacy within a room.

3.Create a space for study and accomplishments.
Having a dedicated space, including a desk and lamp where your child can study, demonstrates to your child the importance you place on education and your child’s educational achievement. If this has been a source of problems, make the study position in the NE corner of the bedroom. Also make a place on a south wall, if possible, of your child’s accomplishments. Doing so reinforces that you are proud of your child’s efforts. Display drawings, crafts, awards, trophies, ribbons, or other special items, such as tests with good scores or letters from teachers. Place items here that have brought special recognition.

4.Make the child’s room a healthy place.
Water pictures, aquariums, or sounds of water that can be heard from the bedroom can create an unhealthy environment and may even lead to respiratory ailments. This is especially important if the child has any health problems, particularly asthma.

5.Clear the space so your child can rest and be creative.
Jammed closets and drawers, beds with boxes, shoes and other items underneath must be cleaned out. Creating space and visual openness helps your child to feel less pressured, and more likely to be imaginative and creative. More is definitely not “more” when it comes to kids. Give them a visual rest and clear out all the stuff they haven’t played with in a month or more.

6.Use light, color, and artwork in the room to make a happy environment.
A child’s room should stimulate, not dampen, the child’s spirit. Make sure there is adequate lighting for the desk, for a bedside table, and that windows can be closed off for privacy.

Rooms that are painted blue (unless it’s a bright or light-colored shade) or other dark colors can be depressing and create too much oppressive energy. Bright colors, such as yellows, light greens, purples and pinks are good choices, with yellow being the optimal choice.

Monitor the images your child sees being certain to eliminate images of ferocious or dangerous animals or violence. These are poor symbols for making a child feel safe in the bedroom. Select items for the room that inspire and intrigue a child to learn and that foster his or her sense of security.

7.Position children in the correct bedroom locations.
If possible, boys should be placed in the east or north bedrooms and girls should be placed in the south or southeast or west bedrooms.

Interesting Facts About Electric Adjustable Beds

Interesting Facts About Electric Adjustable Beds was written by Mike Jezek and he says "Unless you've been under a rock the last several years, you have certainly seen commercials or read reviews of electric adjustable beds. You may be wondering what these beds are, how they work, and if they really do provide the high quality sleep that you have heard about. This article will explain a few of the basics of electric adjustable beds.

Electric adjustable beds are not the typical mattress and box springs set up that many of us currently sleep on. Instead of using solid materials, electric adjustable beds are filled with air. Instead of springs, electric adjustable beds have many separate pockets that are filled with air. Since there are no mechanical parts, electric adjustable beds can conform perfectly to the shape of your body, providing all the support you need to get a restful night of sleep..

Electric adjustable beds can have their firmness adjusted on the fly just by pushing a few buttons. Electric adjustable beds have a self contained pumping apparatus that can add or remove air from the bed so that the firmness can be set to any level that the sleeper desires. This is a great advantage over mattress and box springs beds, which are by their very nature non adjustable.

Some of the top of the line electric adjustable airbeds feature separate controls for each side of the bed. This means that partners can set the firmness on their side of the bed to the setting that suits them best. There is no need to compromise on comfort when using electric adjustable beds.

Learn more about how air beds can help you get a better night’s sleep and possibly aid in back problems. Take a look at http://www.free-adjustable-beds-buyersguide.com/simmons-adjustable-beds.html It’s a treasure trove of tips and information that’ll give you the information you need to make the right buying decision.

Practical Tips For Boys Bedroom Design

Practical Tips For Boys Bedroom Design was written by Lee Dobbins and he says "Boys bedroom design can be challenging and unless your little guy has shown a great interest in one thing over the other, chances are you'll still be making the interior decorating ideas from him. With a little openness to your little guys ideas and tastes, you may be able to gather from him what you need to create a bedroom that he'll really enjoy for many years to come.

Unless you have some personal objection, it may be a good idea to start with his favorite color. When you've ascertained the color from him, you have just found which color you should paint his room. Other than that, you'll probably have to do most of the decision making for him. If he hasn't shown a great interest in anything in particular yet, this simply means that he's taking his time deciding and you shouldn't put too many other characters in his room because he may decide that he doesn't like them. The last thing you want is for your child to feel uncomfortable in his own bedroom because he/she doesn't like the pictures you put up in their room.

When you've chosen the color, decide whether you want wallpaper and paint in his room. Paint, more popular, is easy to apply and dries relatively quickly. Wallpaper, well, don't get me started. Hours of scrubbing and pulling at wallpaper because it's seriously stuck to the wall is no fun. Much easier to take a new color and replace the old with the new. Once the color or wallpaper is chosen and on the walls, the rest of your job for your boys bedroom design will be easy to complete.

Other than paint color, a nice decorative touch is to choose something that he's shown interest in and build on that for his decor. If he loves to play with airplanes, maybe put a few model airplanes up in his room hanging from the ceiling. If he loves to play with pianos, maybe a wallpaper border of musical piano keys around the top of the walls in his room will be more appropriate. Whatever his tastes are, it's a good idea to build on those. He will be spending a lot of time in this room as he grows; therefore, he should be comfortable in it. Yet, if he really hasn't shown interest in one thing over another, then maybe just a color is enough for now. Decorative touches can always be added as his developing tastes choose a favorite.

Boys can be difficult when it comes to decorating. They are interested in the world around them and playing and having fun. It can be hard to get them to nail down items that they prefer, yet when they do, these can make for a wonderful boys bedroom design in which your little guy will spend some of the most important years of his life.

Lee Dobbins writes for Home Improvement and Home Decorating where you can learn about dozens of decorating styles and get more great decorating tips.

Decorating Ideas For Kids Bedrooms Beds was written by Rob Dillon and he says "Kids bedroom furniture can be hit or miss. Parents are torn between style and design or practicality and usability.

Often there are two types of bedroom furniture, themed and a more traditional style.

To start with let’s take a look at traditional beds.

Traditional beds

Traditional kids beds usually perform just one or two functions and don’t lend themselves to a particular theme. As such they are more likely to be a long-term solution rather than a short-term fashion statement and can be categorised into three main areas; pine beds, metal beds and divan beds..

Kids Pine beds

These are kids beds constructed from pine and are usually finished with a natural coloured stain, these are the type of bed you first think of when asked to imagine a kids bed.

Pine is a cheap building material and is strong for its weight. Pine trees often grow fast and as such bed manufactures often source the pine from sustainable forests. Pine trees also produce a lot of branches, these branches can be seen in the pine of the bed as knots.

Kids Metal beds

Metal is a good material for the construction of kids beds, it is strong, inexpensive and can be made into elaborate shapes.

Traditional kids beds are often a combination of pine and metal, using metal for structural support, and pine for the base of the bed.

Metal kids beds are usually powder coated or use a hard type of plastic coating applied to the base metal. Small chips and marks are often easier to spot than on pine beds.

Divan beds

Divan beds are a very basic kids bed in a simple box shape, usually with storage in base. Divan beds are made from a combination of a lightweight wooden frame, MDF and other inexpensive building materials, covered in a durable fabric.

The mattress sits on top of the box frame and headboards are attached as a separate item. As divan beds are basically a box they have the advantage of having a lot of storage space inside them, great for a kids bedroom!

Fun Kids beds

Fun kids beds are often a traditional style bed that use bright colours and fun accessories, such as themed headboards. This creates a more cost effective kids bed as these beds can be made on the same production line as a traditional bed.

Modern Modular (adaptive) Kids beds

These newer and increasingly popular types of bed are usually more traditional in design and are often made from high quality pine. Modular designs ensure a long life span along with adaptability to meet yours and your child’s needs.

So what does modular mean?

In this context modular furniture is that which can be modified or altered. A basic example would be to take a standard single bed and add an extension pack to create any manner of other beds such as mid-sleepers, bunk beds, loft beds etc.

Modular beds are a great way of changing your kids bed to meet their needs. For example, a young child may require a “first bed”, a shorter than normal bed. This bed would suit their needs for a year or two, but then they would require a full size bed. This is where the “Modular” aspect comes into play, an extension is added to the existing bed and the short bed becomes a full size bed. The bed is changed to meet the changing needs of the child and you don’t have to worry about buying a whole new bed.

A few years of growing means that your needs are different. Take the existing low bed and add another extension pack, and the single low bed becomes either a mid-sleeper able to house drawers, desks etc, or a bunked able to sleep two. A high-sleeper/loft kit can also be added to make a towering bed capable of fitting a full height wardrobe, or a full sized desk, or even a futon bed chair under.

Themed beds

Themed beds are those that often relate to a well-known character or object. Themed beds are both exciting and often expensive and can rage from the traditional sports car bed to a Disney© Princess tower bed. The drawbacks of a themed bed can be that they often fall out of style after a few years.

Tips for Choosing Child Bedroom Furniture

Tips for Choosing Child Bedroom Furniture was written by Matthew Gabhart and he says "When choosing child bedroom furniture parents should take great care and consideration in what they pick. Their child will be spending and incredible amount of time in their room, and the things they see everyday will have an impact on their young minds. A kids room is their special place. The things they see in it on a daily basis will inspire their imagination, effect their attitude, and mold how they see themselves.

Colors Make A Difference

As adults, what we see effects how we see ourselves; the same philosophy holds true for kids. The subconscious mind is like a vast super computer that effects us in ways we do not understand. It has been proven through different studies that colors inspire different thoughts without a person’s permission. While bright colors may inspire happy, pleasant thoughts, dark colors may bring more negative thoughts. Extensive studies have been done to determine the thoughts certain colors stimulate. I recommend for parents to research this interesting topic when searching for child bedroom furniture..

Organization Now Could Mean Organization Later

An organized room can cause kids to see the value of organization. Because of the massive amount of time that kids spend in their rooms, everything about it could mold mind-sets that stick with them. If the room is very organized and has a place for everything, then a kid has a better chance of being organized throughout their entire life. This will yield a lot of positive results throughout their lifetime. A room that is thrown together with hand-me-downs and does not have a lot of order, instills disorganization into a kids mind early on. Because of this they could struggle at school and have other problems throughout life.

A Child’s Room Inspires Their Interests

What we see effects our thoughts. When we think of something long enough it effects our personality. Our personality effects our overall life. When choosing child bedroom furniture a great kids bookshelf filled with colorful, beautiful, kids books would be a great way to inspire your child to read. You won’t have to harp on them that they should read. They will just see the books very often, think about them a lot, and in turn, begin reading. On the other side, a T.V. stand with movies and video games underneath will inspire your kids to watch T.V. and play video games. They will see it a lot, think about it a lot, and in turn play it a lot. In this scenario you will have to constantly be on your kids to read, because they will be inspired by the T.V. stand in the middle of their room to watch T.V. The old term “Out of sight, out of mind” really holds true. The opposite “In sight, in mind” also holds true. Whatever you want your kids to think about and dwell on the most should be in their room. They will probably see it more than anything else.

A Kid Should Take Pride In Their Room

A child that is proud of their room will make a greater effort to keep it clean. Give your child a limited choice in picking out their own furniture. Make sure you narrow down the search with choices you are happy with and then let them choose. Teaching kids to appreciate the things that they have is a great value to instill in your children. If there is a certain bedroom set that your kid loves but is too expensive to purchase all at once, allow your kid to work towards it. Let it be part of their Christmas and birthday presents. Let them work and use their allowance to purchase some things. They will take pride in what they have because they had a major part in picking it out and acquiring it. This process teaches children many life lessons. They learn to make choices, set goals, work towards goals, save up for what they want, and appreciate their living space and possessions. All of this from child bedroom furniture. Who would have thought?

Bedroom Furniture Sets

Bedroom Furniture Sets was written by Peter Emerson and he said "Nowadays people not only look out for single pieces of Bedroom Furniture but also for complete Bedroom Furniture Sets, which can create sync between the bed set, and its surrounding furniture. Bedroom Furniture Sets have taken the American furniture market by storm, as there are diverse ranges of Bedroom Furniture Sets available and offered at various price ranges.

However, if there is anything that is not to be missed, that happens to be the solid maple bed sets, due to their elegance, style, functionality and non-toxic features. These Bedroom Furniture Sets are mostly hand-crafted for a long-lasting finish. Most of them usually include a bed frame, 6-drawer dresser, a mirror and two graceful nightstands. They primarily come in three categories, as Ash, Birch and Maple..

These days, traditional six-piece Bedroom Furniture Sets have been replaced by the seven- and eight-piece furniture sets, which are now extremely popular. They are specifically crafted from classy and striking maple, rather than normal particleboard or thin layers. All the furniture in this bed set is polished with a non-toxic finish to provide a sound and tranquil sleep. All the Bedroom Furniture Sets available on the market are said to be free from any defects in material or craftsmanship. Normal Bedroom Furniture Sets usually have nightstands, chests, dressers, vanity cases and a jewelry chest. They are designed to harmonize with each other. Now you can easily find reasonable and fashionable Bedroom Furniture Sets at any furniture store.

Bedroom Furniture Sets can be classified in two categories: according to the finished form or according to the style. Bedroom Furniture Sets in finished form are basically available in oak, pine, cherry and many other forms. As far as styles are concerned they can be chosen from estate, mission, wall unit and many more. In short, we can say that there is something for everyone to choose from, with Bedroom Furniture Sets.

The Modern Guide To Choosing The Right Bed Sheets

The Modern Guide To Choosing The Right Bed Sheets was written By Branka Ilech and he says "Do you realize that you spend a full one-third of your life in bed? That’s a lot of time, and knowing that, wouldn’t it make sense to make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible while you’re there? We’ve all slept on scratchy sheets or those that are so thin you can almost see through them. But a good night’s rest requires a certain level of comfort that simply can’t be had with poor quality bed sheets.

Is it time for you to buy new ones?

Size Matters

If you’re more than twenty years old, you’ll remember when beds only came in standard sizes. You likely had a twin, double, queen or king. But with today’s mattress improvements, you could have a king sized bed, but the standard king sized sheets may not necessarily fit it. Why? Because mattress manufacturers have made vast improvements to mattresses including things like pillow tucks and extra thickness..

Knowing this, you will have to take care when buying your bed sheets, otherwise you might have sheets that won’t quite wrap around the edges, or do, but continually slip off.

Each package of sheets will provide the exact measurements of the sheets, so it’s important for you to pay attention to them. Measure your mattress before you go shopping so that you will be prepared to make a decision. In other words, if you have a queen-sized bed that has a pillow tuck on both sides of the mattress, you may have to buy king sized sheets!

Thread Count

Have you ever had the privilege of sinking into a soft bed and wondering how in the world it was so comfortable? Was it a new kind of fabric softener? A perfectly worn in mattress? In all likelihood, it was the sheets!

The thread count is what will determine just how soft your sheets are—the higher the thread count, the more comfortable your sheets will be. Sometimes called the TPI, this factor measures how many threads are used per every square inch of fabric. They can range anywhere from about 150 all the way up into the thousands. In general, you should always avoid any sheets that have a lower count than 200 because they won’t feel good on your skin, but scratchy and uncomfortable. If you buy sheets with a thread count of over 250, you should have a pretty good night’s sleep.

Material

The type of fabric that you select when buying your sheets will make a huge impact on your comfort level. And with so many materials available, you should think hard about what type of sleeping experience you desire. The most popular choices are cotton, flannel, and silks and satins.

Cotton is by far the most popular because it is snuggly in the winter and cool in the summer (although they have to be warmed up in the winter first). There’s just something about sinking into a bed with high quality cotton sheets! In addition to being comfortable, manufacturers tend to produce them in more styles and colors (than other sheet types) to keep up with the consumer demand.

A winter just isn’t complete without warm flannel sheets. Most people exclusively use flannel sheets in the cold months, because they will become “sweaty” in hot ones. In addition, many manufacturers have begun to produce flannel comforters and blankets to match the patterns on the sheets.

Finally, a silk or satin pair of sheets is considered the ultimate in luxury. They are silky soft and will keep you from sweating in the summer. You can literally slide into bed and if you have a satin or silk pillow case, lay your head in pure luxury. The only downside to satin and silk sheets is that they tend to slide off of the bed if not fitted properly.

What about you? Are you a cotton person or silk? Do you want a frivolous thread count, or will 250 do? Think about your options carefully before you shop for bed sheets and then enjoy your choice!

The Benefits of Waterbed Sheet Sets

The Benefits of Waterbed Sheet Sets was written by Kevin Stith and he says "It is a good idea to purchase a full set including a comforter when buying waterbed sheets. Buying waterbed sheet sets is more economical than buying all of the components separately. Getting a comforter along with the sheets allows for more versatility with the bed and keeps the owner from having to buy a separate blanket for use during the cold months of the year. Also, it is much easier to purchase a full sheet set that includes a matching comforter than it is to find a matching comforter separately. Waterbed sheet sets are available in all major fabrics and for all sizes of waterbed.

The unique styling of waterbed sheets is something that necessitates purchasing them in sets. Instead of buying the fitted sheet separately from the flat sheets, as is often done with conventional sheets, waterbed sheets often come with the fitted and flat sheets connected to each other. With many waterbed sheet sets, the flat sheet is sewn to the center of the foot of the fitted sheet. This makes it easier for people to make the bed, as they do not constantly have to tuck the flat sheet into the foot of the bed. This is an added advantage for waterbeds with wooden frames because they often leave little room for sliding hands and fingers around the mattress to make the bed. Another unique feature of waterbed sheets is that the fitted sheet often has corner flaps that hold the sheet in place and keep it from slipping while people sleep on it.

It is advisable to buy a sheet set that includes a comforter. A matching or complimentary comforter adds style to the sheet set and provides warmth on cold nights. It is easier to buy a comforter with the sheets than it is to find one that matches, especially for sheets with unique colors or patterns that may be difficult to match. Another advantage to buying a waterbed sheet and comforter is that they are usually less expensive when purchased together, as main reason that sheet sets are sold is to provide buyers with a good deal. When purchased all together, sheet sets can save the buyer almost a third of the cost of the all of the components bought separately.

Waterbed sheet sets provide convenience and value to consumers. They feature all of the things that waterbed owners need for their bed in one package, and a waterbed sheet set and comforter provides even more value.

Water Bed Sheets provides detailed information on waterbed sheets and discount waterbed sheets, as well as waterbed sheet sets, sizes and materials. Water Bed Sheets is the sister site of Down Comforters Web.

Iron Bed Frames

Iron Bed Frames was written by Ken Marlborough and he says "A bed frame makes a bed more comfortable by supporting the mattress and the box spring without a footboard or headboard. Bed frames can be made of wood or metal. Among metal frames, there are different types of frames made up of iron, steel, brass or a mix of one or more metals.

Iron bed frames are mainly used as a support for iron beds, though they can be used with other beds also. They are available in many styles and price ranges. There are certain companies which produce handmade iron bed frames. They are generally quite expensive..

There are several companies which mass-produce iron bed frames. They are less expensive than handmade iron bed frames. Hence, factory-made iron bed frames are quite affordable. There are certain companies which make bed frames on order. They will make an iron bed frame to suit your requirements. They could cost you a few hundred dollars, and if the iron is of superior quality and you are going for style and design to make it a part of your décor, then the price of an iron bed frame could into the thousands.

There are a number of dealers that offer to sell bed frames online. Once you purchase them online, they are shipped to you. But there are many customers who would like to visit a shop, showroom or factory outlet to have a look at an iron bed frame.

Pure iron bed frames are rare now; even wrought iron bed frames are not very common, as they are relatively expensive. Iron bed frames are durable, but take care that the patches of rust on them do not spoil the ambience of your bedroom. The good quality iron bed frames have anti-corrosive qualities. But if that is not the case with your iron bed frame, then coat it with anti-corrosive paint at regular intervals.

Iron Beds provides detailed information on Iron Beds, Wrought Iron Beds, Iron Dog Beds, Iron Bed Frames and more. Iron Beds is affiliated with Custom Crib Bedding.

Choosing The Right Bed Frames

Choosing The Right Bed Frames was written by Ammy Johnson and he says "Bed frames are an incredible part of the process of building a bed. Most don’t realize the vast number of options that you have. A quick search though and you are sure to have hundreds of styles, sizes and types to consider. But, how do you choose and what differences does it really make? There are some important considerations for this purchase, but overall, the needs and desires that you have also play a role in what you decide on. Often, just browsing through the options can help you to decide.

Selecting For Quality First

No matter what type of bed frames you do end up purchasing, you’ll want to consider the quality of them. If you select a steel bed frame, you need to know how much weight is can support as well as how it is built. If it is a simple model that is weak, you may be looking for a new frame within just a few weeks or months. But, if you purchase one that has quality to it, and possibly even a warranty of some type, you’ll be able to secure the frame that fills your needs as well as having the long lasting qualities that are quite important in a mattress and bed frame..

Considerations For Your Needs

The right bed frames will depend on several key elements. For one, you probably need a bed frame that is strong and study. But, you may also have a style of bed that interests you. If there is a type of bed that you are after, for example, you may be interested in a platform bed instead of a standard model; the frame must meet this need. In addition, you’ll need to take into consideration whom the bed is for. A child’s frame can be purchased as a bunk bed set or even with considerations for their size. Still, there are plenty of other options out there.

It is quite important that the frame that you do purchase fit the bed that you purchase. For example, you need the frame to adjust down or up to the size of the mattress you are purchasing. A frame for a queen sized bed doesn’t help you at all if you have a king sized bed or even a twin size. Many frames will be able to adjust to one size up or down, though. Check this out before purchasing it especially if you want it to be flexible.

Remember, bed frames are the frame of your bed. They are required to provide your body and your weight with a place to rest. The higher the quality of the frame that you purchase, the more likely you are to find your bed relaxing and not worrisome. With so many types on the market, you may have to invest in a few minutes to consider your options. That’s okay because the end result is that you get the bed that you want, in the style and color that fits you as well as having the security and safety of a quality product.

Baby Bedding

Baby Bedding was written by Randy Wilson and he says "When you choose a baby bedding, choose the one which can guarantee optimum baby bedding safety and coziness to your baby. The best fabric for the baby would be 100 percent cotton. Below are descriptions of the different types of nursery bedding for each type of furniture.

Crib Bedding: Until the baby is one or one and a half years old, the crib is its ideal bed. Cribs are of many different types, but they all need to be strong and durable. You could choose a standard crib, or go for a more expensive one such as a convertible or portable crib which would be ideal for traveling. It is best to always choose a crib from a reputable company..

Bassinet bedding: Bassinets are suitable for the baby for the first 3 or 4 months. A perfect bassinet will have a soft cuddly mattress, a small little pillow and a blanket. A bassinet should be made of soft material with preferably the color blending with the baby’s room.

Cradle bedding: Cradles have a lovely rocking motion which makes sure that the baby gets a sound sleep. Light colored cradles are preferred by parents because they look nice and you can notice when they get wet.

Baby blankets: Baby blankets should be of soft material and must be non toxic. Today there are many types of blankets to choose from that will be soft, smooth, and pleasant smelling with attractive and eye pleasing colors.

Bedding for the baby could be different for a boy or a girl. They could be gender neutral as well. The color combination and the cute looking cartoons are common to both the gender.

Normally for the girls, the baby bedding is replete with shades of pink, light blue and purples. A baby girl’s bed is laid out like a princess. A baby boy’s bed is sport oriented. You could see baby bedding for boys themed around superheroes, WWE personalities or baseball stars. The colors tend to be darker and bolder for boys.

As pointed out above, it is not a hard and fast rule for the baby bedding to be in a certain set of preferences for baby boys and girls. In fact you will see a lot of neutral nursery bedding themes with regard to cartoons like Disney or Popeye characters or cute animations.

The kids are too small to understand the difference about having gender specific cartoons and animals and they are attracted to anything which pleases their eyes and make them smile. It is just that when they get a little older, little boys would feel a little awkward having his bed done in pinks and pastels.

When baby girls grow older, their beds could have blinds with the curtains hanging on rods above. This gives the bed somewhat a princess bed kind of appearance. Not that the girls would be complaining!

Bedding is one interesting avenue where there are a lot of options in store for the parent from choosing the kind and texture of sheets, the choice of colors and baby bedding patterns.

While purchasing a baby bed it is up to you if you choose a gender neutral baby bed or something which would make her feel like a princess or make him feel like a superhero.

Tips on Buying Infant Bedding

Tips on Buying Infant Bedding was written by LynnMarie S. and she says "Infant bedding is a broad category with a variety of products such as crib bedding, bassinet bedding, cradle bedding, Moses basket bedding, portable crib bedding, round crib bedding and Stokke crib bedding including other infant beddings such as receiving blankets, quilts, and more.

The most important thing you want to remember when purchasing infant bedding is that you buy the correct infant bedding for the item you wish to use the bedding with such as you do not want to try to use a cradle sheet on a regular crib. The size of the infant beddings is very important and should fit the product properly to ensure that is does not come loose and allow your little one to become tangled in the crib sheet or other accessories. Accidents can happen when you are using improper fitting infant bedding..

Infant bedding is designed to be safe and comfortable to give your baby the best nights sleep ever including the mattress. However, you also need to make sure that the mattress is not too soft enough for your baby to suffocate. Newborns are not able to turn over yet and if a mattress is so soft, they could suffocate the same goes for bedding that comes loose from the mattress.

Choosing the best and proper fitting infant bedding has to do with which type of product you are going to let your baby use for sleeping such as a crib or bassinet. You may even wish to have more than one item, the crib for the nursery and a bassinet or cradle for another room in the house. No matter which type you are using, you need to measure to ensure that you find the proper fitting sheets so they do not slip while baby is sleeping.

You can choose to purchase complete infant bedding sets, which include the fitted sheet, quilt and other accessories to enhance the beauty of the room. However, you will probably desire to have a few extra sheets for the time when these are in the wash. If you do, you need to be sure that each fitted sheet you purchase does fit properly.

Some choices you have when you are searching for infant bedding are name brands that you know you can trust such as Glenna Jean, Baby Martex, and Lambs & Ivy among many others. These wonderful companies are names that you can trust to create wonderful infant bedding that fits properly and is safe and comfortable for your baby.

Remember, if you do wish to purchase items at a discount try not to ever buy irregular fitted sheets for your baby. These are not always the best buy just because they are cheaper. If the irregular infant bedding does not fit properly, your child could be in danger of suffocation and the few dollars you saved, you in fact place your baby in danger.

When in comes to infant bedding it is best to purchase items that you know will be perfect for the type of products you own and never try to make fitted sheets work that are too small or too large for your crib, bassinet, or cradle.

Make Sure You Buy The Right Futon Bed Mattress

Make Sure You Buy The Right Futon Bed Mattress was written by Robin OBrien and he says "Before you go out and buy a futon bed and mattress make sure you buy a futon bed mattress that best suits your needs. Buying a futon bed can be a cheap alternative to buying a sofa bed, but if you don't know exactly what futon you want, you may live to regret it.

Futon beds have become increasingly popular. These dual purpose pieces of furniture are great when you don't have much space, or if you want a sofa that can be occasionally used as a bed for guests. Futon beds also tend to cost less than the more traditional sofa beds. However before buying a futon bed and mattress you should decide exactly what function the futon bed will be put to use..

First, futon beds tend to come in two varieties; a bi-fold frame or tri-fold frame. A bi-fold futon bed is where the frame folds the mattress in half; down the middle, lengthways. A tri-fold futon bed is where the frame folds the mattress into thirds, widthways; one third forms the seat, one third the back, and the final third folding over the back or underneath the seat. When folded, the bi-fold futon bed mattress has a wider seating area than does the tri-fold futon bed mattress. The bi-fold futon looks much more like a traditional sofa, whereas the tri-fold futon looks more like a two seat sofa. If space is very limited you may want to consider buying a tri-fold futon bed mattress, but if not, the bi-fold futon bed mattress usually looks far more pleasing to the eye.

Secondly, it should be borne in mind that it isn’t the futon frame that provides the comfort when either sitting or sleeping on a futon: it is the futon mattress that provides the comfort. A futon bed mattress made for a tri-fold futon frame is not as thick as that for a bi-fold futon bed frame. Therefore, if you intend to sleep on your futon regularly you might be best to buy a bi-fold futon bed mattress: a thicker mattress tends to provide more support. But if space is at a premium and you will only occasionally sleep on your futon best, than the tri-fold will certainly suffice.

The best futon bed mattress is the one that best suits your requirements. Consider the space you have available, and what will be the main function of the futon bed mattress. If the futon is going to be used regularly for sleeping on, then most consumer reviews of futon beds tend to favour the bi-fold futon frame and mattress. Finally, always buy the best you can afford. There are many top rated futon bed mattresses to choose from. You can find them in many department stores these days, or you can find many makes and models of futon beds on the internet. Remember, know exactly what type of futon bed mattress you require before you go out and buy one.

A Futon Bed Sofa Is A Great Investment For The Family Home

A Futon Bed Sofa Is A Great Investment For The Family Home was written by Andy Maingam and he writes "I never knew what a futon was until a friend of mine set me straight. A futon is what I have always called a sofa bed, only they are better quality and these days and really do look like decent settees when not being used as beds. So simply put, a futon is a couch which turns into a bed when unfolded. There are lots of types of futons around, often referred to as futon beds, and they can be great practical furniture items for many a home.

The western futon is loosely based on the Japanese original futon mattress, which unlike the futon bed, does not double up as sofa and is stored away when not being used. When you consider the tiny spaces that many Japanese folks live in, you might be surprised to learn that they don't use the space saving futon-sofa concept, but then the layout out and living styles of the Japanese are quite different to the western lounge, and therefore the futon-bed is rarely considered..

If you use the futon bed sofa occasionally as a bed and just as a backup for when friends or family members stay over, then you may not give too much thought about the quality of the mattress. If it's used as a bed settee more often than not, then most people these days prefer to choose the all natural 100% cotton Futon mattresses, as these are supposed to be much healthier and environmentally friendly than synthetic and spring based mattress types.

Students, singles, and folks living in smaller dwellings find the futon bed a great space saver, but many families consider them to be a great investment for the family home too and especially those with young or teenage children, as an extra bed always comes in handy for those sleepovers.

If you are considering a futon bed sofa you might also want to purchase a futon cover at the same time, as this will protect your mattress keeping it looking new for years to come. When shopping for a futon slipcover, make sure you pick the right fabric. There is a wide selection of futon slip covers on the market and you'll surely find one that suits the theme of your room be it in a classic, contemporary, eastern, western, or modern style.

So, when shopping for a futon you need to be armed with 3 core questions.

1. The frame. Do you want wood or metal? also consider the size and design.

2. The Mattress. The filling, comfort and use. If your futon mattress is likely to get folded a lot, it is important to purchase one that is very flexible.

3. The cover. Style, softness, designs. (Remember, you're never stuck with one cover)

You don't need to be an expert on the engineering of the futon bed sofa, nor do you need to understand about the best mattress or covers. So long as you keep these 3 points in mind when you go shopping for a bed sofa, the store experts will be able to assist you in finding a modern sofa bed that specifically suites your needs.

What Qualities Should You Look for When Buying a Futon Bed Mattress?

What Qualities Should You Look for When Buying a Futon Bed Mattress? was written by Robin OBrien and he says "Buying a futon bed is a great choice. A futon bed can be used during the day as a sofa and makes a great bed for sleeping on. However, before buying you should know what futon bed mattress qualities to look for.

It isn't the frame of a futon bed than provides the comfort; it's the futon bed mattress. If you haven't yet bought your futon bed you should be aware that futon beds come in two forms; bi-fold and tri-fold. A bi-fold futon bed folds the mattress in half whereas a tri-fold futon bed folds the mattress into thirds. This means that a tri-fold futon bed mattress isn't as thick or as supportive as a bi-fold futon bed. Therefore, if you're going to be using your futon a lot for sleeping on, then a bi-fold futon bed mattress is a better choice..

A futon bed mattress can be defined with the following qualities: weight, firmness, rigidity, and flexibility.

A lighter futon bed mattress is a good choice as long as it gives the comfort you want. If you're planning on using your futon mainly as a bed then a heavier futon mattress is usually going to be best option.

Firmness is a measurement of the “feel” or "give" of the mattress when used as a sleeping or sitting surface. This quality is what people define as 'comfortable'.

Rigidity is the ability of the futon bed mattress to retain its shape along its edge when being used as a bed or sofa. Rigidity of a futon bed mattress is more important when the futon is being used mainly as a sofa.

Flexibility basically defines how easy folding the futon mattress is going to be. If you are going to folding the mattress daily from sofa to bed back to sofa again, then buying a futon bed mattress with a lot of flexibility makes sense.

Futon bed mattresses are made from a variety of materials. The different materials used in futon mattresses will directly affect the four qualities of weight, firmness, rigidity, and flexibility. The following is a rough guide as to the qualities of futon mattresses made from 100% cotton, cotton and foam, cotton and polyester, 100% polyester, and innerspring.

Futon bed mattresses made from 100% cotton are at the heavier end of the scale, as is its firmness and flexibility. However, the rigidity is quite low. A futon mattress made from a mixture of cotton and foam is much lighter and less firm than that of one made from 100% cotton. The rigidity of a cotton and foam futon mattress is quite high, so is ideal for futons that are going to be used mainly as a sofa. A futon mattress made from cotton and polyester is also light and not too firm. Its rigidity is less than that of 100% cotton or cotton and foam mattress. However a futon bed mattress made from cotton and polyester is quite flexible. A futon mattress made from 100% polyester is by far the lightest of all; it also rates well for firmness and rigidity. A futon bed mattress made using inner springs is by far the heaviest and would only be used when the futon is almost always used as a bed. As you might expect, the rigidity of a futon mattress using inner springs is excellent. The flexibility of an inner spring futon mattress is quite poor, but you would only really buy this type of mattress if the futon is going to be used as a bed most of the time.

Futon beds are a popular choice for many consumers due to their flexibility of function. Before buying a top rated futon bed mattress make sure that the qualities - mentioned above - of the mattress are what you require. If you know exactly what you want before you buy you are going to avoid being disappointed with the purchase of your futon bed.

Robin O'Brien is founder of a website that compares mattress ratings to help consumers buy a top rated futon bed mattress from some of the world's most respected manufacturers. You can also get advice on buying a Serta, Simmons, Jamison or Tempur Pedic mattress amongst others.

Tips On Purchasing Your Futon Bed

Tips On Purchasing Your Futon Bed was written by Dean Cecere and he says "There are many types of futons, also known as a futon bed, and they can possess many advantages for you and your home. They are very versatile, and can be changed from a bed to a couch usually in a very short time with little effort at all. That is basically what a futon bed is: a pece of furniture that can be used as either a bed or a sofa. They are usually very affordable and can be purchased as a set. Futons, otherwise known as futon beds, are usually made up of a mattress, a futon cover, and a frame.

The futon mattress of a futon bed is usually not as thick as a regular bed mattress, and can be filled with foam, cotton, innersprings, polyester and/or viscoelastic foam. They are somewhere between a mattress and a mattress topper. These can be on their own or layered to provide a nice level of comfort and durability, and are usually precision tufted to keep the contents of your futon mattress from shifting. Of course, the more you pay, the higher quality mattress you can expect to get..

The frame of a futon bed, however can be pretty much whatever you want it to be. They can be made of wood, such as oak, pine, maple, and others can be made of metal or rattan. Whatever they are made of, you can be sure to easily find one with a great design and that is stylish enough to fit the decor of your home to a "T".

The thing about the futon bed is that they can be a great solution to any office, dorm room, bonus room or any other room where space can be a concern. They are fantastic for a home office, because they can transform your home office into an extra bedroom in very little time to accommodate your house guests. Most futons are either bi-fold or tri-fold, which basically describes the number of flat surfaces that make up the futon. When you pick out the futon bed for you, make sure you open and close it, because you want something that effortlessly converts from a bed to a couch for you. After all, who wants to struggle with a heavy mattress and frame when you are ready for bed? The easier the better. So whatever look you go with, make sure the design is convenient like a futon should be.

Traditional Futon Beds

Traditional Futon Beds was written by Carl Walker and he says "Futon is Japanese traditional furniture, basically a mattress that makes up a bed which is still commonly used today. Futons first appeared as weed-made rags in ancient Japan. A traditional futon set usually costs under 10,000 yen (around$83) sold at specialty stores called futon-Ya in Japan and other department stores.

A traditional Japanese futon set generally consists of a mattress called a shikibuton wrapped in Shikifu or sheets, a comforter called Kakebuton covered with a kakebuton cover, blanket called môfu, and a pillow called makura. The makura is usually filled with beans, buckwheat chaff, or plastic beads. The 4 to 5 cm thick futon itself is flat, having a fabric exterior stuffed with cotton and/or synthetic batting..

In Japan, there is a variety of futons available depending on the season. For example, futon may be made of feathers, which is light and comfortable during summers. Thick and heavy futons may otherwise be used in the summer season.

Futons are designed to be laid on Tatami - a traditional Japanese flooring created from individual woven straw mats of uniform size and shape, bordered by brocade or plain black cloth, and packed with straw. Styrofoam may also be used with the recent ones.

The traditional futon, when not in use, can be folded away and stored in a closet called oshiire, which has sliding doors and is usually divided into two shelves. The futon is generally stored on the upper shelf, and since Japanese homes are typically small in size, a room may be used for multiple purposes such as functioning both as a living and dining room. The futon quite comes in quite handy when considering this since it can be easily stored away.

The Western Transformation:

The futon become popular in the United until after World War II. In the 1960s, handmade cotton pads were used by hippies, students and health enthusiasts as alternatives for conventional beds. The first significant transformation, about a decade later, was the introduction of convertible frames which turned the futon into a bed-cum-couch furniture.

By the 1980s, the popularity of the futon had reached its peak in the United States and other western countries, and people started buying it in large quantities. The transformation continued with the introduction of components such as innersprings, pocket springs, coil, foam and polyester mattresses, as well as electric frames with massagers. The futon had become considerably westernized towards the end of the decade that it became almost hard to recognize a Western-style futon as a “futon”.

The popularity of the futon also spread to the country of its origin, and top Japanese futon manufacturer, Maruhachi Mawata, started manufacturing futons resembling the western style in 1997. Older generation of Japanese still very much use the traditional futon but younger people prefer the comfort, style and added features of the western style. Incidentally by the year 2001, there was a 60 percent increase in the use of western style futons and beds in Japan.

Platform Beds

Platform Beds was written by Peter Emerson and he says "Platform beds, as the name suggests, are beds that are supported by a thin or narrow strip of wood or any other material. These beds have no head or footboard, which a traditional bed contains. Platform beds are preferred by people for their firm sleeping surfaces. They are positioned lower to the ground and serve as a storage space for small houses. Usually platform beds rest on a rectangular surface, but they sometimes have small legs at the four corners.

Unlike a traditional bed that has a spring mattress, a platform bed’s thin surface holds a thin mattress and sits low to the ground. The cost of a thin mattress is much less than that of a spring mattress, and bedding is minimal saving the buyer even more money. They are usually made of hard and durable wood and appeal to those who want to give their bedroom a minimalist look. The beds have a sleek look and are a self-contained unit. One can build a wide plank around the bed to use as a bench or a stand. Such beds are more common in eastern countries as they emulate an oriental look. One can also construct a headboard to function as a shelf for a lamp, books or other items.Platform Beds.

The selection of beds for your personal space can be overwhelming sometimes. When you have a small room platform beds are an ideal solution. The space under the platform can probably store your bedding and pillows. The beds are extremely comfortable, and their simple look lends an elegant charm to the room.

The Benefits of Wood Platform Beds

The Benefits of Wood Platform Beds was written by Elizabeth Morgan and she says "Wood platform beds are beds that have no box spring and are made out of wood. Platform beds are great for complementing any décor, but are especially well suited for rooms that are going for a simple feel. When these beds are made out of wood, the effect is that much more grounding. The proliferation of feng shui ideals have made platform beds a high-demand item among those going for a “Japanese” or “Zen-like” energy in their home. The low physical profile of wood platform beds go very well with other low-set furniture such as low coffee tables, dressers, and other bedroom furnishings.

Wood platform beds can be made out of any kind of wood. The most popular are cherry, teak, rosewood, mahogany, maple, dark walnut, pecan, honey oak and others. Any wood platform bed frame can be made of a lesser wood, or even particleboard, and then overlain with the veneer of a higher quality wood. That way, you can get whatever feel you are going for, without spending the necessary thousands of dollars for the real thing..

However, if you’re the one who just can’t seem to forget that the veneer is just a mask for a lesser wood, you’ll have to shell out for the real thing.

Wood platform beds take on a wide variety of sizes and forms. You can obtain any size bed from a single or twin, double or full, to a queen, king, super king, or California king. These beds can simply be flat surfaces or sets of slats on legs, or they can be full-on beds with headboard, footboard, and canopy. They can have simple, clean lines, or they can boast more of a flourish and sweep.

Evolving History of Platform Bed

Evolving History of Platform Bed was written by Jeff Cai and he says "As far back as the Neolithic period, man has been sleeping on a bed, or at least, has had a designated area for sleeping. There are all types of bed styles that seem to go in and out of style. When the style is revived, it is usually reborn to fit contemporary tastes and needs to suit the time. Surely, at one point in time, somebody decided to raise the sleeping area off of the ground to prevent stray animals or insects from finding a warm body to curl up next to. Much later, it was the Egyptians that are credited with doing just this, thus creating the concept of “bed” as we know it.

Many bed types linger in the background, but never really go away. Bunk beds seem to suit children’s rooms and dormitory style living. The space saving ability makes them a great choice for tight living quarters. Daybeds can be used as a dual piece of furniture. It can be used as a seat by day and a bed by night. Futons also incorporate the daytime sitting space with a nighttime sleeping area..

Since then, styles have evolved to suit the times. Platform beds are not a new invention, but rather, a new twist on an old concept. The first platform beds were better defined as loft beds. The sleeping area was raised on four poles so that there would be space for everyday living activities below. As living became more luxurious, the beds became shorter. Presently, the Platform bed has seen a popularity revival.

The styles that are currently available utilize two main mediums, wood and metal. Sometimes the designer incorporates them and includes metal accents or leather in the bed design. The Platform bed may or may not encompass a footboard. The absence of the footboard contributes to the open-airiness that is meant to open a smaller bedroom. However, some people prefer the styles that include the footboard to further define their sleeping space. Another space defining style is the Platform bed with a canopy. Curtains may be hung around the perimeter of the bed to make the bed more private. If curtains are not desirable, fabric may be loosely draped to create a dreamy feel to the room. Organza or a light weave of cotton are great choices. The immortal Mission style furniture will never wane. Once exclusive to the dining room, Mission style is now integrated into the bedroom scenery.

Many different colors are also available. Dark finishes are sharp and defining, surely making the Platform bed the focus of the bedroom. White, or lighter finishes make a clean and crisp statement.

The versatility of a platform bed is priceless. Platform beds may or may not be used with a box spring. The wide variety in mattress choices also allows you to customize not only the look of your bed, but the comfort as well. A low profile Platform bed combined with a pillowtop mattress will eliminate the need for a boxspring, without sacrificing the height.

Whatever your style, the combinations are innumerable. You might choose coordinating finishes to match your Platform bed, or you can also mix and match finishes creating contrast and texture in your sleeping space. You can customize as you please, if you like it, it can’t be wrong.

All You Need For Planning Your Platform Bed

Platform Bed Frame – All You Need For Planning Your Platform Bed was written by Yun Feng Cai

Where to Buy a Discount Platform Bed

Where to Buy a Discount Platform Bed was written by Elizabeth Morgan and she says "Platform beds can be a wonderful addition to any bedroom – or simplification tactic for those who want a more Zen-like lifestyle – but the price can be so prohibitive. One would think that simple beds should come with simple prices – but they don’t. Many platform beds can cost thousands of dollars or more for queen and king size beds.

You don’t have to pay full price for a platform bed. You can take advantage of a platform bed’s lovely simplicity, elegant lines, pleasingly low profile, space-saving under-bed storage space, and skeletal support – at a fraction of normal retail cost. Sometimes you’ll be able to pay as little as 1/3 of the regular price..

There are a number of ways to go about finding discount platform beds. One way is to keep an eye on the local classified listings. You might be able to catch a great moving sale, yard sale, estate sale, or other kind of sale, and get a great used platform bed. Another avenue towards discount platform beds is via liquidation or closeout sales, auctions for the seized property from bankruptcies, and so on. These will yield brand new beds, sometimes for as little as one-tenth of the book cost!

Another way to find a platform bed at a very reduced rate is online. There are a number of websites promoting discounted or “overstocked” platform beds.

The other thing to keep in mind when hunting for good deals is that, just because a bed doesn’t cost full price, that doesn’t mean your money isn’t valuable. So be sure to ask about what kind of warranty and/or guarantee is included with the platform bed.

Luxury Bedding - Tips on Shopping for the Best Quality Bed Linens

Luxury Bedding - Tips on Shopping for the Best Quality Bed Linens was written by Linda Cass and she says "Buying good quality Bed Linen

We all want to get quality for the money we pay for our bed linen and bedding accessories but how do we know what to look for. Here are some tips to guide you in finding good products for your bed that will be both stylish and long lasting from your on-line store..

Thread count

What is thread count?

Thread count relates to the number of threads running horizontally and vertically in one square inch of fabric. You will probably find that most stores have product ranges with thread counts from 180 to 320 and in general the higher the number thread count the better quality product you will be getting. On high thread counts you would feel the difference in the softness of the fabric and it will have a better visual appearance. According to Consumer Reports cotton and fabrics blended with cotton and a thread count of 180 to 200 provide better wear and tear and give more comfort to the owner. Therefore you could pay a little extra for a higher thread count but it will last you much longer and mostly likely stand up to more use than a lower thread count fabrics.

Egyptian Cotton

Many of us have heard of Egyptian cotton and associate this with quality in bedding and clothing, but what does this actually mean? Cotton has been farmed and grown along the Nile in Egypt for a very long time and is a big part of the Egyptian industry. The cotton produced is a long staple cotton which in turn produces the exceptional fine and soft Egyptian cotton fabric. It is used to make very fine linen and luxurious fabrics very often used in bedding and sheeting. The higher percentage (%) Egyptian cotton in the fabric the better quality product you will be getting. Egyptian cotton stands up well to heavy use and washing and should last for many years to come.

Design and Style

Often taken for granted when looking for bedding is the design work that has gone into producing the bedding. Look at the styling of the bedding, good manufactures have taken time and attention over the little details to bring you the best in style and comfort. They have used luxurious fabrics such as jacquard, high quality cottons and satins and may have added detail on the bedding such as trims, piped seams, embroidery, or Satin trims and Decorative Stitching. Things to Consider When Buying Bed Linens

Things to Consider When Buying Bed Linens was written by Rob Buenaventura and he says "You may have thought that choosing the perfect mattress was the hardest decision that you were going to have to make when it came to outfitting your bedroom right? Wrong! Choosing your bed linens is likely to be a very big stress as well, and there are a lot of factors that you need to consider before you purchase bed linens. Bed linens are not cheap, so you will want to be happy with your choice because you are not likely to be changing your mind after only a few months.

Here are a few things to consider when you are choosing your bed linens:

Size
Make sure you have the right size of linens before you purchase them. Once you take the sheets out of the packaging they will be much harder to return to the store, so pay attention to what you are purchasing. Measure your mattress so that you are completely sure what size of sheets you will need. Most mattresses are manufactured to a standard size; however there may be some deviations. Also, be sure to check the width of your mattress. If you have a pillow top mattress, you will require sheets with deep pockets, or you will drive yourself crazy trying to keep your sheets on the bed. Another thing to keep in mind is that the larger your mattress is, the more expensive your bedding will be. You may want to consider how important that is before you decide on that king size mattress.

Thread Count
Learn about thread count before you hit the store. Basically the thread count is the amount of threads per square inch in both directions of the weave of the sheet. The thread count should be prominently displayed on the packaging to make it easy for you to find what you are looking for. A good rule of thumb is that the higher the thread count number, the softer the sheets will be. However, keep in mind that the higher the thread count, the more expensive the sheets will be as well.

Amount
It is important to purchase more than one set of sheets for your bed, for a few reasons. The first is just practicality. When you launder the sheets on your bed, you will want something to put in place. Also, if you have a few sheet sets in rotation, you will be able to extend the lifetime of all of the sheets as well.

Color and Style
The color and style of your sheets and bedding are crucial to your overall theme of your bedroom. You will want to create a soothing environment that is conducive to rest and rejuvenation. Be sure that you choose a style that you really like because it can get quite costly to continually change your bedding.

Material
It is also important for you to pay attention to the types of fabric that are used in your bed linens. Do you want fleece or flannel sheets? This type of sheet can be nice for cold winter days; however in the summer you will likely want a cotton sheet to help you keep cool. Cotton is a popular choice for sheets, however many people opt for a cotton blend that will not wrinkle as readily. If you are in the mood for something more luxurious you can opt for silk or satin as well.

Rob Buenaventura invites you to check out SleepComfortable.com. Here we provide bed mattresses and bed futon tips and ideas. For a comfortable and warm sleep, check out some of the benefits a flannel duvet cover can offer at http://www.sleepcomfortable.com.

Luxury Bed Linens Laundering and Care

Luxury Bed Linens Laundering and Care was written by Will Robertson and he says "Luxury bed linens are an investment that adds comfort and warmth to any home. Taking proper care of your cotton, pure linen, or a cotton / linen blend, bedding will keep them feeling cozy and looking great for many years. Most luxury linens come with care instructions written on sewn in tags. The suggestions offered below are meant to supplement the manufacturer's instructions.

A Few Tips Before You Get Started

You may launder most luxury bed linens at home unless otherwise instructed on tag. Here are some quick tips before getting started::

* Wash new lines before sleeping on them the first time.

* Use a gentle laundry detergent to extend the useful life of your bed linens.

* Some skin care products contain oxidizing agents that will discolor your bed linens when washed. If you use these products, be sure to wash them off before going to bed.

* Bed linens will naturally shrink from original size. Washing in very hot water or drying with high heat will shrink bed linens more

Washing Luxury Bed Linens

1. Separate bedroom linens into light or dark colors. Avoid overloading the machine to prevent damaging long staple fibers like those in Egyptian linen. Wash in warm water, using a gentle laundering agent, with a final cold rinse. Pre-soak in cold water if necessary.

2. Allow your washing machine to fill up and begin agitating before you add detergent or bleach. Usually you won't need the recommended amount of detergent; use a half measurement unless your linens are very dirty. Mild detergent is gentler on cotton and fine bedding linen, and will extend their useful life.

3. Remove bedding linen fabric from washing machine promptly when finished to reduce wrinkling.

Drying Luxury Bed Linens

1. Air drying bed linens on a line is the ideal way to dry, but a dryer does an excellent job when convenience is at a premium.

2. Do not use a heat setting that is too warm for your linens or dry them too long as this will cause some damage.

3. Remove your bed linen promptly from dryer and fold neatly to reduce wrinkling.

Ironing Luxury Bed Linens

Fine bed linens are made out of natural fibers that have a tendency to wrinkle, especially when new. After some use these fibers will relax allowing the bedding to wrinkle less. If you wash and dry properly, and fold as soon as finished, most wrinkles will be avoided. For the smoothest finish, use a good iron and iron linen fabric while still damp.

Storing Luxury Bed Linens

1. Be sure to iron linens before storing for long periods, as this will help prevent creasing.

2. Do not store directly on wood. Long term contact with wood can discolor linens and cause damage.

3.Do not store in direct sunlight which will fade colors.

Bed Linens

Bed Linens was written by Richard Romando and he says "One sure way to make your bedroom always look stylish, attractive, and comfortable is to find great bed linens. Bed linens offer a lot of benefits such as coolness in summer, comfort in winter, easy care, and long wear. There is now a wide variety of options for bed linens that come in different designs, colors, and styles.

In the past, homeowners preferred the white bed linens because they felt great. They were ironed for a smoother and softer look and feel. And they also needed harsh bleaches to make them look whiter..

But today, you can enjoy all these qualities without doing most of the work. Bed linens nowadays can be washed easily. When you toss them in the washer and dryer, they come out wrinkle-free so there is no need for ironing. Additionally, these now come in vibrant colors so there is no need to be confined to white bed linens. You can now mix and match your linens with your bedroom wall paint, curtains, and furniture.

Bed Linen Care

However, in order to retain these qualities for years, you have to follow some tips for bed linen care. First, you should wash the linens with a good, gentle detergent. You should never use bleaches and detergents with optical brighteners since these can discolor and weaken the sheets. You also have to make sure that the detergent is dissolved in the washing machine before you add the linens.

Second, you should not use very hot water or a hot dryer. Heat can weaken the fiber so this can cause your linens to wear and tear early.

And lastly, you should not overload your machine, and you should only use a gentle cycle. After the wash cycle is complete, run the sheets through an extra rinse cycle to remove any soap residue since this decreases their softness.

These are just some of the tips that you can follow when washing your bed linens. By keeping these tips in mind, you are guaranteed that your bed linens will last for years.

The Importance of Bunk Bed Mattresses

The Importance of Bunk Bed Mattresses was written by Dani Martin and he says "Bunk bed mattresses are perhaps the most important kind of mattresses. This is because safety risks exist when wrong-sized bunk bed mattresses are purchased. As such it is critical to know precisely the size of the mattress you are seeking.

After determining the size of the mattress you need, the two factors to consider are firmness and construction. Firmness refers to the comfort of the mattress and making sure that it is consistent across all areas. Construction refers to how the mattress is manufactured. A more expensive bunk bed mattress will often have thicker padding, higher coil counts, better wire gauge and/or a mattress pad..

Interestingly, while coil count is typically directly correlated with the cost of a mattress, it has only a small impact on durability. When a mattress sags, rather, it is caused by the padding. As a result, when comparing two bunk bed mattresses, you should look for the one with thicker, better quality padding.

Unfortunately, the bedding industry is marketing-crazed in that retailers often bombard customers with irrelevant and inaccurate information in hopes of selling the highest priced items. Be sure to avoid any hype and seek a durable, thickly padded mattress. Shopping online, and comparing prices across websites, also helps to avoid the marketing hype.

Bunk Beds Info provides information on the types of bunk beds that are available, and how and where to buy a bunk bed.

The Beauty of Wrought Iron Beds

The Beauty of Wrought Iron Beds was written by Mario Chompass and he says "Every once in a while people feel the sudden urge to change something in their life. Some people might need to change something big like their job or their house. For others it can be as simple as a new haircut or a new piece of furniture. If you feel bored with how your bedroom looks like, maybe it’s time to get a new bed. A new bed will surely be able to give your bedroom a whole new look and give you the change that you are looking for. When choosing a new bed, you would do well to purchase a wrought iron bed.

Wrought iron beds can be extremely practical if you are looking for a new bed frame. This is because the material can be inexpensive and it is also very durable. This means that a wrought iron will not be an expense; it will be an investment which can be handed down from generation to generation..

Wrought iron beds are also very practical in the sense that they can go with almost any theme. There are various styles of wrought iron beds and this makes it possible for a person to match a bed with other furniture. In a sense, a wrought iron bed can help infuse new life into your bedroom.

Choosing a wrought iron bed style is actually quite easy once you have established what you want your bedroom to look like. This, of course, includes considering the personality of the person who will be using the bedroom. Some people prefer to buy antique wrought iron beds in order to help them achieve a look of elegance and style. Some people even consider rust-marks and chipped paint as a mark of the quality of their wrought iron bed.

If old looks is not your cup of tea, there are also modern wrought iron beds for sale today that can help you achieve a room’s chic look. These wrought iron beds are simple in design and can easily be matched to any room.

If you are looking for a wrought iron frame based on the mattress, make sure that the wrought iron bed you are going to buy will have the proper dimensions and specifications to support your mattress. This is because of the fact that most antique wrought iron beds need to be custom-fitted in order to support waterbeds and the like. Wrought iron beds can actually support many different types of mattresses.

The wrought iron bed is both classic and romantic, will add a lot of character to any room, and is one piece of furniture that you can count on for quality and use for many years to come, in fact the original iron beds were passed from one generation to the other, simply because they last so long.

Wrought Iron Beds

Wrought Iron Beds was written by Ken Marlborough and he says "Beds are often made up of a particular variety of iron called “wrought iron”. It has a low corrosion rate and can be twisted easily. Wrought iron beds are more expensive than normal iron beds. Until the first half of the last century these beds were very popular among the rich and the famous.

That is why one finds that a number of antique beds are made of wrought iron. Wrought iron beds are also used for decorative purposes. However, they are not merely a piece of decoration, but can be used in day to day life. They can be kept in a bedroom and used for sleeping as any other bed is used. In fact, they are much stronger than normal iron beds..

Ugly patches, due to corrosion, occur on many other types of iron beds after a few years of use, but these don’t happen with wrought iron beds. There are several wrought iron beds which were manufactured centuries ago and still look elegant and fresh. Wrought iron beds can be very stylish. One can buy readymade wrought iron beds or can get them custom-made. There are several companies which deal exclusively in wrought iron beds. It is better to buy from an exclusive dealer rather than a generalized one.

One should consider the quality of iron when purchasing a wrought iron bed. It may not be easy for a normal person to differentiate between wrought iron beds and other types of iron beds. So it is better to be careful while purchasing, especially if you are buying online. The prices of wrought iron beds vary according to the size, weight and style. Choose the one which suits your taste as well as your budget.

Wrought Iron Beds: Shopping Tips To Remember

Wrought Iron Beds: Shopping Tips To Remember was written by Tony W. Dunk and he says "If you think that your bedroom could use a little somthin' somethin' then start thinking about wrought iron beds. These beds are usually very unique and gorgeous and they can set any room on its side. With the simple addition of one of these bed frames you will be transforming your room fro just another boring bedroom to a room that people will gush over. Your bedroom will become part of the home tour! That is how amazing these beds really are.

But when it comes to actually shopping for wrought iron beds you need to know what to look for. For example, do you want an actual wrought iron bed or one that just looks like wrought iron? There is a big difference when you get it home..

There are actually sellers out there that claim to sell the real thing but in fact they are not selling wrought iron at all. It is possible that the wrought iron bed you are thinking of buying is not really made out of this metal, in fact it is probably just dark steel made to look like wrought iron. It is very important that you find out what you are really buying you don't want to pay wrought iron prices for plain old pretty steel. That would be insane!

If the wrought iron beds are manufactured in the States then it is not wrought iron at all. The United States stopped making this metal back in the late 60's because it just took too much time. This metal is one of the ones that takes the longest to forge and no one wanted to waste their time anymore so they stopped producing it. Now if you want to get the real wrought iron you will have to look to the UK.

You could get lucky at an antique store or an auction or flea market as well. Oftentimes people sell these types of things and don't even bother finding out what they are worth and some people don't even care, they just want to get rid of that ugly bed they always hated. But as they say one mans trash is another mans treasure! If you ever see a wrought iron bed for sale cheap then don't hesitate, buy it then because you probably won't get the chance again down the road.

Tony has worked in a furniture workshop for more than 12 years. He has worked on numerous pieces of wrought iron furniture and has enough knowledge to give you his quick 3-step evaluation of the metal as well as his insights on wrought iron wall decor. This is made available to the public via his wrought iron furniture website, http://www.jlspecialty.com

Iron Beds

Iron Beds was written by Ken Marlborough and he says "Iron beds are beds whose frames are made of iron. Iron is a good material for beds, because it is heavy, sturdy, and rustic. Many people like the "feel" of iron for their bedframes, because it gives an old world flair. The choice of a bed is important, as we spend almost one third of our life sleeping. Beds can be made of wood or metals. The most common metal beds are iron beds.

They come in exquisite styles. Iron beds are durable and often cost much less than wooden beds. People who have any problems related to their back or neck must consult a doctor before buying an iron bed..

Some iron beds are antiques. Because of iron's durability they have been handed over from one generation to the other. These antique beds can cost you a fortune. Many of them are auctioned by auction houses, which deal in antiques.

There are several web sites where one can purchase iron beds. Some of us, however, may not be thrilled by the idea of spending a few thousand dollars by just looking at the picture of a grand old iron bed with a beautiful canopy on a web site. Many of us may like to touch the bed and have a feel of it before buying it.

Generally, iron beds are preferred for pets also. The quality of an iron bed depends not only on its design and the comfort it provides, but also on the quality of iron used in making it. The price of an iron bed varies accordingly.

How To Shop For A New Bed Mattress

How To Shop For A New Bed Mattress was written by Catherine M. Wehner and he says "No other piece of furniture in your home is as important as your mattress. A good night's sleep means you wake refreshed and ready to face the day. But in order to have a good nights sleep you must have the right mattress for you. Here is how to shop for a new bed mattress.

Mattress Construction

There are three basic elements in the construction of a mattress. The foundation is like a giant shock absorber which adds durability and support to our mattress. It absorbs the wear and tear of our nightly sleeps and provides us with a comfortable sleep platform..

The core construction varies with different types of mattresses. Depending on your personal taste and level of comfort your mattress might be made of springs, foam, air, or even water. The middle core is what provides the support for your body.

The layers of upholstery are wrapped around the core. This is what provides the comfortable surface to lie on. This layer is made from a variety of fibers or foam to provide a cushion effect.

Support

Your mattress is supposed to gently support you while you sleep. All points of your body and spine should be supported. When you are choosing a mattress you need to be able to relax in order to see if you are properly supported. If you are not properly supported your muscles are unable to rest throughout the night and you wake up stiff and sore.

Comfort

Is a personal preference. Some people require a firm mattress while others require a softer mattress and of course there is everything in between. Modern materials are plush, cozy, and well you could say simply irresistible .

Warranty

Each manufacturer offers a different warranty so be sure to check to see what the mattresses you are considering have to offer. Warranties are based on a great deal of things and generally the higher end mattresses have a longer warranty period. Check your mattress regularly for defects and problems with workmanship.

Durability

Relates to how long the mattress will stay comfortable and support you properly. Over time your mattress will wear out just like any product does. So each year you should re-evaluate your sleep needs.

Space

The mattress you pick should give you enough room to move around freely. Couples should choose a mattress that's at least a queen in size.

Sets

Matching set work together and look nice but mismatched sets mean you can save a lot of money and provide the same quality of comfort and support.

Value

Buy quality products that are made from quality materials. Remember you pay for what you get so don't expect a $200 mattress to be of the same quality as a $1000 mattress.

That said there are plenty of great deals to be found online. Many online retailers offer their mattresses for as much as 40% less than the local retailer. Choose Sealy, Simmons, Beautyrest, Serta or one of the many name brands on the market to ensure your bed mattress provides you with the very best sleep possible.

Robin O'Brien is founder of a website that compares mattress ratings to help consumers buy a top rated futon bed mattress from some of the world's most respected manufacturers. You can also get advice on buying a Serta, Simmons, Jamison or Tempur Pedic mattress amongst others.

Pick A Quality Air Bed Mattress

Pick A Quality Air Bed Mattress was written by Catherine M. Wehner and she says "An air mattress provides a firm support that's easy to adjust. Originally air beds where used in hospitals. Today there are many different styles on the market which can make picking a quality air bed mattress a bit overwhelming. Here are 5 great picks to get you started.

Air beds where used in hospitals because they provided a method that patients that were bed ridden could get more comfortable. It didn't take long before the benefits of sleeping on air become well known and more manufacturers decided to produce their own consumer line. Today air beds are as popular as tradition mattresses.

It doesn't matter the price you pay for your coil spring mattress they can create pressure points. Air mattresses reduce the number of pressure point and you can easily adjust the firmness so that it's right.

There is a foam divider between the two air chambers which assists in the firmness of the mattresses. The quiet pump is rated for 15,000 hours of continuous use. This pump makes it very easy to change the firmness of your mattress in just a second. And you can adjust each side so everyone is comfortable.

The cover is easily removed for cleaning and the Somma line has earned the American Sleep Research Institutes Seal of Approval.

Air Bed Mattresses

Air Bed Mattresses was written by Kurt Kowalski and he says "Air bed mattresses are no longer regarded as temporary sleep solutions. Nowadays they are increasingly being used as high-tech alternatives to the traditional and often painful metal spring mattresses that a lot of people are currently sleeping on. Therefore if you are having trouble sleeping or you are waking up to persistent back pain, you might want to consider updating your mattress to an air bed.

Air bed mattresses have the ability to mold to the exact shape of your body to give you support where you really need it. This unique feature eliminates the pressure points that sometimes occur while sleeping on a coil mattress and that can ultimately interfere with the natural alignment of your spine. A mattress that is too hard won't allow for the natural curvature in your spine, whereas one that is too soft has a tendency to sink, allowing for abnormal bends in your back..

If your current mattress doesn't provide your spine with the proper support, you are putting yourself at risk for developing lower back pain. Also keep in mind that as time goes by and the shape of your body changes, you may require a different level of firmness. When this occurs there is no need to go out and buy a new mattress. If you own an air bed mattress, it can simply be adjusted to fit your new needs.

Beyond Back Support
Another advantage to sleeping on an air bed mattress is relief from certain allergies. It is a well-documented fact that the innersprings on traditional coil mattresses are breeding grounds for dust mites, a major contributor to several allergies. On the other hand, air bed mattresses are constructed out of hypoallergenic materials that are naturally resistant to dust mites.

Authentic Antique Iron Beds

Authentic Antique Iron Beds was written by Mary H. Sigman and he says "In the early 1840's iron furniture was introduced into the homes of America. Until then iron was customarily used in the garden area for urns, benches light poles and primarily in the home for staircase bannisters, and architectural uses, such as cupolas, porch railings on terraces, etc.

With this dramatic introduction to utilitarian and furniture purposes were born some of the most beautiful and well crafted, as well as distinctly durable items of that century as well as today's.

One of the most useful, durable and beautiful of these items is the Iron Bed in my opinion. With the graceful curve of the Nouveau period beds to the stalwart strait structure of the Mission period, the iron beds dictated the look of a room, yet could be used with any style furniture, from pine to rosewood..

Although I admit that the Victorian era iron beds are my favorite... many Mission and Country beds also satisfy my thirst for this wonderful piece of our history and future.

It is my firm belief that these beds will endure the hardships and trials of the future, just as they have for the past one hundred and sixty years.

One of the true delights in using the iron bed is the ability to change the color to match the decor of your room. Let's face it...our decorating changes from time to time. An iron bed will always blend well with any decor...even modern.

Even the iron baby beds....which I do not recommend for a baby unless it has been converted to safety regulations...have their uses in and out of the home. They make lovely loveseats, daybeds, etc. Be sure to coat with a clear marine finish if used outside the home ... such as porch benches, or plant holders.

While authentic antique iron beds are the most in demand, metal beds are coming on strong. I am not referring to foreign made cheap material beds, but rather to the 1910 through 1940 era, which were very sturdy in most cases, and make inexpensive additions to your home. These beds are given honorable mention only because the fall into the antique or collectible bed class. Be careful if you sandblast metal beds because the thickness of the metal can be cut into easily with sandblasting. This is not the case with iron beds as they are much thicker material.

Three quarter iron beds were much in demand in the late 1800's as most people either made their own coverlets, etc. or they could be purchased just about any where. Today they can still be purchased, but generally from select companies, rather than any department store. Three quarter beds are 48 inches wide and need a custom mattress. Again these mattresses can also be purchased ...but generally from a mattress company rather than department stores. Sometimes the length of the bed is also shorter than the modern bed.

There are many reproductions of the iron bed.....but none can encompass the distinct beauty or durability of the Authentic Antique Iron Bed. True antique iron beds stand in a honor roll all their own.

King Size Air Beds

King Size Air Beds was written by Kurt Kowalski and he says "If you regularly share a bed with a sleep partner, you probably already own or want a king size bed for optimal comfort. A Regular King or Eastern King size air bed measures 76 inches by 80 inches and a California King or Western King air bed measures 72 inches by 84 inches.

(If you are considering replacing your old King size waterbed and keeping your existing frame, you would need a California King airbed.) With these large sizes, two people can sleep rather comfortably. Now that you each have enough room to get a good night's sleep, you will want to select a mattress that provides both of you with the support and firmness you need..

Unfortunately, most sleep partners have different comfort and support levels. Consequently, selecting a mattress that suits both of them can turn into a major ordeal. However, a couple could easily solve their problems by investing in a king size air bed, that contains dual air chambers.

King size air beds with dual air chambers allow each side of the bed to be inflated to a different comfort level. Thus if one partner likes their mattress firm and the other prefers it soft, there is no need to compromise. That's right--a king size air bed with dual air chambers will provide each person with exactly the comfort level they're looking for...

Why Air Beds May Give You The Best Nights Sleep You've Ever Had

Why Air Beds May Give You The Best Nights Sleep You've Ever Had was written by S.A. Smith and he says "The secret to an air beds high comfort factor is its ability to spread the bodies weight and contact with the mattress in a more even fashion. Traditional mattress designs are more rigid and can force certain points of the body in contact with the mattress to absorb the entire weight of the body, creating concentrated pressure points that are uncomfortable and often out of natural alignment.

Air beds have the ability to mold and shape to the contour of a sleeping body and were originally designed for hospitals and medical environments where higher levels of back support and reduced pressure points on the body were needed. Now this technology can be invited into your own bedroom to create a more comfortable sleeping environment..

An air bed is basically a mattress that contains air bladders instead of hard steel springs. Air beds can often also be adjusted to suit the particular support needs of partners that share a bed, as each side usually has individual air bladder controls that can be adjusted. The adjustable dual air support chambers can provide just the right amount of back support and firmness on one side of a bed without disturbing the other side. Sleeping on an air bed can also provide better spinal alignment through the night, giving you a very comfortable and restful sleep.

Several air beds are endorsed by the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations as good for people with back backs and back support problems. In addition, air beds can help people with allergies by reducing the available nesting ground for dust mites. The traditional coil mattress is usually the largest breeding and nesting ground of dust mites in a household and can contain as many as 5 million dust mites feeding on skin particles that have filtered into the inner mattress core. With an air bed mattress system you do not have this problem, which can help improve your breathing while asleep.

Queen Air Beds was written by Kurt Kowalski and he says "At approximately 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, queen size beds are by far the most popular size. This is primarily due to the fact that queen size beds offer people, couples in particular, a maximum amount of surface area for sleeping without taking up too much space in their bedrooms. As a result, people who live in tight quarters often view queen size beds as the most comfortable yet space saving bedding option.

If you are short on space but care about comfort, a queen size air bed may be the ideal option. Unlike traditional innerspring mattresses, a queen size air bed can be adjusted until it reaches a level of firmness that is ideal for you. This is important because over time your needs will probably change; when this occurs, all you have to do with an air bed is simply readjust the level of firmness. In contrast, a traditional mattress would have to be replaced as your needs changed..

Based on this alone, an air bed is clearly the convenient and affordable option. Moreover, the queen air beds distributed by Air Beds Unlimited can also be purchased with dual air chambers. This means that couples who share a bed can each adjust their side according to their changing needs.

The Benefits of Adjustable Air Beds

The Benefits of Adjustable Air Beds was writtenby Jimmy Sturo and he says "Adjustable airbeds are adjustable beds for which the firmness of the mattress can be adjusted. The mattress can be made firm or soft as per the liking and comfort of the user. The right level of firmness makes sleeping and relaxing all the more comfortable, as the contours of the body are completely relaxed.

The firmness of the mattress provides the right kind of massage to the body during sleeping hours. If the mattress is comfortable enough, tossing and turning in bed is considerably reduced. These are some of the reasons why airbeds have considerably replaced ordinary mattresses..

Airbeds have foam reinforcement around the sides as well as a foam layer on top for extra softness. This extra foam not only protects the mattress but also gives it more rigidity. Airbeds are less ordinary mattresses with an inflatable core. They are filled with air and can displace body weight from extreme pressure points.

The firmness can be precisely adjusted for the right level of comfort. They are very useful in hospitals and nursing homes, suitable for people who spend long hours in bed. As airbeds can distribute the weight of the body evenly, they also reduce the pressure on some parts of the body. When coupled with an adjustable base, they make sleeping and relaxing all the more comfortable.

Air Beds

Air Beds was written by Kurt Kowalski and he says "When you first hear the term air beds, you are probably apt to envision a large rectangular or plastic bag that you fill with air for use while camping or as a temporary bedding solution when overnight guests drop in. Although this conception of air beds is accurate, it is by no means complete. Perhaps you are one of the few people who missed it, but air beds have been prominently promoted from their provisional purposes and are now being regarded as comfortable, yet elegant alternatives to those old, metal spring mattresses.

Back Pain in America
It is estimated that two thirds of American adults will experience back pain sometime during their lives. In fact, back pain is the leading cause of disability in America for people under the age of 45. In general, back pain is described as any pain or discomfort felt in the upper, middle, or lower back, but lower back pain is by far the most common type..

When you consider that the average person spends roughly 200,000 hours of their life sleeping, it makes perfect sense that those with chronic back pain would want to be extremely selective about the type of mattress and/or bed they decide to spend so much of their time on. With this in mind, there are several suggestions for choosing the best mattress for low back pain sufferers. In order to reduce lower back pain, a mattress which provides both sleep comfort and adequate back support should be selected.

Air Beds to the Rescue
If you are looking for a comfortable bed that can be adjusted to fit your special needs, an air bed would certainly fit the bill. Unlike traditional metal spring mattresses that are stiff and inflexible, air beds are supported by chambers that are filled with air. As a result, air beds can quickly be inflated to a comfort and firmness level that is appropriate for you.

Furthermore, air beds are moldable and can easily be shaped to fit the exact contours of your body...

5 Tips On Purchasing Adjustable Beds

5 Tips On Purchasing Adjustable Beds was written by Leon Chaddock and he says "Considering the purchase of an adjustable bed? If so, there is more to it than just answering an ad on a television commercial or from the web. The fact is that you have many options to consider and many manufactures to choose from. Not all adjustable beds are the same quality, cost and durable as others. When it comes to purchasing the best option for you, you’ll want to consider several elements such as those that we have listed here today.

• Do not make rash decisions in adjustable bed purchases. Take the time to understand them and to consider several options. Not all offer the same qualities.

• Ask questions about the adjustable beds. How do they work? Why is this beneficial to you? And, what are they made out of? These are questions that you should have the answers to before you make any choice.

• What is the cost of the adjustable bed and what does that price include? Is there a warranty available? What is covered in it? And, is shipping, handling, set up and other delivery charges included or will those too be additional?

• You should know what benefit the manufacturer is claiming that the bed will have for you and just why that will happen. If you do not receive these benefits, are the costs refunded?

• If you can not test the best prior to making your purchase, is there some guarantee in place in case you simply do not like the bed?

Understanding the vast amount of information that is available about the adjustable beds will make the choice in purchasing one or the other. Although many products promise to give you unbelievable rest and comfort, you should know what they have that provides this so that you know what you are buying into. While there is nothing wrong with using an adjustable bed, finding the right one and finding the right price is the absolute necessity.

The Unique Benefits of Medical Adjustable Beds

The Unique Benefits of Medical Adjustable Beds was written by Jimmy Sturo and he says "With more medical advantages, an adjustable bed finds more functions in a hospital or a nursing home. It provides relief to people who are bed-ridden or those who have to stay in bed for long hours and can be adjusted either manually or electrically.

Making the Right Choice with Adjustable Beds

Making the Right Choice with Adjustable Beds was written by Grace Palce and he says "In your condition, you can’t afford to make careless decisions. You have to be smart with your choice and make sure that when it’s indeed choosing time, you end up with the right decision.

To help you make the right choice when it comes to buying adjustable beds, here are some features that you must ascertain your adjustable bed has:

Check Out the Base – Let’s say you’re interested in buying a car. Smart people with considerable experience in cars know for a fact that the insides of the car – the engine, radiator and the likes – matter more than the outside. The bling-blings of a car wouldn’t amount to much if the engine has a remaining lifespan of three months or something equally ephemeral..

When it comes to adjustable beds, there’s another “inside” factor that you have to know about and that’s the base. You see, with an adjustable bed, it’s not truly the bed that has an adjustable feature but the base. You’re making the right choice if the base of your adjustable bed is manufactured by a well-known company such as Legend and Platt, for example. Bases made by this particular company have sealed motors. And if you’re not aware of the significance of such a thing, it only means that the motor used by your adjustable bed is maintenance-free.

Can It Move? – First and foremost, choose an adjustable bed that has wheels. An adjustable bed with wheels is advantageous in many ways. First, it makes the cleaning process easy because all you have to do is roll it somewhere and then you’re free to clean the space under the bed. Secondly, an adjustable bed with wheels can be easily transported to wherever it has to go for the moment.

Check How It Works – Always go for an adjustable bed that’s easily assembled because you never know when you have to keep it away for a while then later on bring it out again for personal use. It would be quite a hassle if you always have to call for technical support whenever you need to use your adjustable bed so go for an adjustable bed that has a manual that a 10 year old kid can decipher.

The Secrets to Finding the Best Adjustable Bed

The Secrets to Finding the Best Adjustable Bed was written by Michael Russell and he says "Most people in search of a new adjustable bed do not realize that they need to consider the different layers of the bed when they make their selection. In this article, we are going to discuss the five things that you need to consider before you purchase your new bed.

An adjustable bed is made up of the mattress surface and an adjustable base. There are literally hundreds of options to choose from. We will discuss how to select your mattress surface, a base from a reputable manufacturer, a base that is easy to assemble, a good warranty and a bed with good visual appeal. I hope that after reading this article, you will have the knowledge needed to select the very best bed that will be comfortable for you..

It is easy for a person to get caught up in choosing the adjustable bed base and neglect the mattress surface. The sleep surface is as important as the base. Go to the stores that offer adjustable beds and try out a few different mattresses on several different beds. Some of the types available to consider are airbeds, memory foam, coil, or a coil-foam combination. It is important to know that most adjustable bases fold in two places. This means that your mattress should be able to bend in three places. Not all mattresses are flexible enough to give the benefits of having an adjustable bed so be sure to try out different mattresses with the base.

The most popular and reliable bases are manufactured by Leggett and Platt. If you are considering other brands, there are a number of items of quality that you should look for. It is important to choose a base that is made from thick steel so that it won't be prone to bending and distorting. The rollers should be made of nylon instead of wood or metal. Materials other than nylon have been known to produce a lot of friction, wear and noise.

Some bases come completely or partially assembled and some not assembled at all. Make sure to ask the dealer about the assembly of your adjustable bed base before you purchase it. If you don't want to have to sift through unrecognizable pieces and tools, it is probably best that you find a base that involves minimal assembly.

It is important to select a bed that offers a good warranty. A comprehensive 20 year warranty is common and should include a full 1 year warranty. If the bed is going to have problems, they will likely occur within the first 3-6 months. Be sure to have the warranty in writing before you purchase the bed.

The last thing to consider in your search for the perfect adjustable bed is the visual appeal. You don't have to buy a bed that looks like a hospital bed because they are now designed to look like conventional beds. You can find adjustable beds that have a decorative fabric covering that conceals the mechanisms.

It is not that hard to find a comfortable and attractive adjustable bed if you consider the mattress surface and the bed base. It is best that you invest in a reputable company that offers a strong warranty and the visual appeal that you desire. If you take all of this into consideration, you are certain to find an adjustable bed that is just right for you.

Adjustable Beds

Adjustable Beds was writte by Peter Emerson and he says "What one looks for in a bed is comfort for a good night’s sleep or for a good rest. On a flat bed, if the position that you sleep is uncomfortable, there is nothing that you can do. For a guaranteed good night’s sleep buy an adjustable bed. You can enjoy reading, watching television or resting in an adjustable bed. Just adjust the bed up or or down, as well as in various Z-shaped positions, to suit your comfort zones.

The adjustments take pressure off your neck, shoulders and back. You will find getting out of bed much easier without extra pressure on your lower back. The mattress is adjustable, and you can elevate your legs and back so that your weight is evenly distributed. These beds are ideal for people who suffer from varicose veins, hernias and other medical problems. In fact, they are ideal for patients who are confined to a bed for long periods of time..

To further increase the level of comfort and the healthiness of your recline, you can augment your adjustable bed with a memory foam mattress. Memory foam is a space age material originally designed for NASA but found its true calling in the earthly consumer markets. The material accepts your exact shape as if it were a print in the sand, but it also reacts to the heat created by your pressure points, thus giving support where it's needed, and leeway where it's desired. A memory foam mattress is just one way you can augment your adjustable bed, and memory foam doesn't work for everybody, but it might be worth a try.

Putting Together Master Bedroom Bath Designs

Putting Together Master Bedroom Bath Designs was written by Gregg Hicks and he says "One of the most popular remodeling projects involves putting together master bedroom bath designs. The master bath is an increasingly important part of your home’s value, so it is generally a good investment of time and money to remodel and make improvements. You should not just jump in and start demolishing the old master bath, though. The first step (and a very important step) is to consider different options and draw up one or more designs of what you would like to do.

Several things are important to consider when putting together master bedroom bath designs. For instance, even a relatively small space can be redesigned so that it is more functional and feels more spacious. All you need to do is carefully plan and position the right components the right way. When planning the layout of your bathroom design think about how you move about the master bath and where each component should be located..

Master Bedroom Bath Designs

Color is also an important factor for your master bedroom bath designs. Different colors can create different effects depending on the rest of your décor, the natural lighting and the electrical lighting in the space. As you are choosing a paint color for your bathroom bring color samples and sample materials into the bathroom space to see how they look in the ambient light.

Durability and cost are important parts of your design as well. Remodeling a master bath is a big job that you probably do not want to do very often, so select materials that are attractive as well as durable over the long term. Your budget is another important consideration. More and more manufacturers are offering extremely high end bath fixtures and components that are innovative but very expensive. Most of the time, if you splurge and spend a lot of money on these fancy items you will not recover those costs as fully in increased value of your home. It is generally better to choose mid range materials and items for master bedroom bath designs to gain the greatest return on your investment.

Master Bedroom Furniture

Master Bedroom Furniture was written by Peter Emerson and he say "The master bedroom in a house is usually meant for the husband and wife. The early concept of a master bedroom involved a simple room with a queen-sized bed and some dressers. But today, a master bedroom has been transformed into a room that caters to the utmost in comfort and luxury. A master bedroom can now be inclusive of a dressing area, a massive walk-in closet, a sitting area, a wet bar, and an adjoining bathroom, and each of these spaces can be adorned with elegant furniture.

The most common master bedroom furniture includes a bed of a specific size, dressers, chests, nightstands, and mirrors. Master bedroom furniture comes in an array of styles, ranging from the traditional to the contemporary. Master bedroom furniture differs from other bedroom furniture in scale and design. Most master bedroom furniture is made of solid wood and metals..

The bed is the most important piece of furniture in any bedroom. In a master bedroom, the size of the bed is the ruling factor. Typically, a master bedroom is adorned with a large bed such as a queen- or king-size bed. Beds are available in different shapes, styles, and materials to suit varying needs.

A dresser is an elegant piece of furniture that primarily functions as a storage space in the master bedroom. A single dresser placed on the left side of the bed is the norm in master bedroom furniture. Depending on the overall theme of the bedroom, one can select anything from a modern to a Victorian-style dresser. Another important piece of master bedroom furniture is the chest. With the introduction of electronic appliances into the bedroom, the chest has evolved into a versatile storage area.

Nightstands and mirrors complete the setting of a master bedroom. A master bedroom normally has a nightstand with one or two drawers. The nightstand is usually placed by the side of the bed. Mirrors are placed over the dresser, and a master bedroom may have one or two mirrors.

Furniture outlets place special emphasis on all kinds of master bedroom furniture. Online sites with an amazing line of furniture stores make shopping easier.

How to Make Your Master Bedroom a Comfortable Space?

How to Make Your Master Bedroom a Comfortable Space? was written by Linu Thankachan and he says "Your bedroom is your haven, an extension of your individuality. Make it sparsely furnished- essentially a quiet, restful space. A wellplanned bedroom effectively enhances space and colours; it can even alter the mood of individuals and rooms.

Lighting:

Initially viewed merely as a source of illumination, this is today an important design accessory. The right lighting sets the ambience and creates the necessary atmosphere. Recessed lighting, especially near the windows at two extremes of the room under pelmets, lends a romantic touch to curtains, creating a dramatic effect. Localized lighting creates little spaces for oneself, highlighting the use of colour in the room and ensuring a romantic setting at all times. Avoid tube-lights. They are not just harsh, they also lend an almost dreary and unflattering uniformity to the room..

Use lamps - big, small, wall brackets, lanterns, antique looking pieces (good old Manish market, Lohar Chawl or Heera Panna, starting at Rs. 300 upwards and do test your negotiating skills here) or even convert an artifact, eg. a wooden carving into a trendy wall bracket with a shade to match. Adjustable reading lamps come in various styles and metal finishes to complement the décor.

One suggestion for a soft, dreamy bedroom atmosphere is the use of bedside lamps with a large shade enveloping one in its golden shadows. Floor lamps and concealed spotlights strategically placed just over the dresser or wardrobe are alternatives.

Dimmers:

The use of a dimmer serves functional as well as aesthetic considerations. Uplighters in wall mounted fittings serve as beautiful accompaniments to other accessories strewn over the bedroom. They are particularly efficient at lighting art effects or highlighting a cherished nook. Use easy to maintain fittings - it’s best to wipe the fittings with a soft dry cloth to prevent dust accumulation. An elegant glass wall bracket creates a spacious effect. Use bright pillows, colours like peach and grey with chandeliers…

Mattress:

Use approved varieties and save your back - coir, or a combination of coir and foam, but definitely go in for branded ones like Kurl-On: costing Rs. 6000 and more, it is worth the investment. Want to splurge on a water bed? Go on, fuel your pleasures…

Curtains and drapes:

One has a varied range to choose from - white lacy, see-through curtains, heavy drapes that keep the sunlight out during harsh afternoons or even your good old organzas in vibrant colours. Heavy layers of drapes help in keeping sounds low and subdued. Fab India, Cotton Décor have a good choice ranging from Rs. 250 and upwards a piece.

Dress it up:

Bed spreads and quilts in sparkling tones and exotic designs. Patchwork, embroidered patterns in shades of blues, greens, stunning combinations of black and gold, satin sheets, cotton sheets or even velvet ones for the royal touch ... Explore Spaces - Bombay Dyeing, Zeba and Yamini at leisure.

Dresser:

Most astrologers and space consultants will tell you that a mirror in front of your bed is inauspicious. Hence designers have eliminated the need of an individual dresser and incorporated the full length mirror inside the wardrobe.

Drawers:

A necessity to house your personal belongings that you need to access every day, a little pull out trolley to dump used laundry for wash, cabinets for your daily wear like lingerie, towels and personal effects.

Side table and chairs:

A little glass table top, with a couple of cushioned poofies or modas in a cozy corner of your bedroom, preferably facing the blue skies and the greens, could make this an ideal place for your morning Earl Grey cuppa.

Private pictures:

Imagine not smiling to yourself while looking at your wedding or honeymoon pictures or even snaps of your toddler. The nostalgia immediately transports you to happier times and your mood is eased for the night ahead! So, while you may be possessive about not letting everyone visiting your house catch a glimpse of your most intimate pictures, the bedroom becomes the ideal setting to either frame blow ups or place pictures in pretty frames by your bedside.

Books:

A little private collection, your favorites pages to get lost in... You could house them on a simple glass bracket on the wall, easily accessible.

Wardrobe:

Choose between metal cupboards or the built in wooden wardrobe. A young interior designer had inherited metal cupboards from her parents, when she moved to Mumbai. She jazzed them up by painting abstracts in zany, whacky colors and that has become the highlight of her one-bedroom apartment.

Air conditioner or heaters:

It is imperative to maintain the right temperature. Keep filters of ACs clean to avoid dust allergies and service regularly.

Green rule:

It is advisable to keep plants out of your bedroom or transfer them out at least during late evenings. They release carbon-dioxide that our systems can do well without.

Electronics- forget it!:

Research has indicated that it is not healthy to have gadgets like the TV or cell phones around while you are sleeping.

Avoid clutter:

Do not relegate your bedroom into a junk yard, just because it’s out of visitor's view. Magazines have to go into a rack, old newspapers have to be rid off, and clothes must never be strewn around. Take care of little things to make your bedroom pleasant.

Color schemes:

Pale colors like beige, pink, mauve, greens put you at peace; whereas the ones on the other extreme of the palette like reds, oranges, yellows, purples energize you. At the end of the day, it is a matter of personal choice of what you prefer.

Costing:

When homemaker Beena and husband Mathews from Goregaon W, wanted to revamp their master bedroom they approached their interior decorator with a clear cut idea of a simple, warm bedroom. The color would be light blue - Mathew's favorite - a huge bed, wardrobe with built in mirror-dresser, a CD rack, side tables and drawers. At the end of a month's labor, they had their fantasy land ready, all under Rs. 60,000.

Simplistic pleasures:

If nothing else, try the Spartan look - a mattress on the floor, with cotton sheets, fluffy pillows, music, dim lights and give in to life's most basic delight - deep slumber!

Three Great Concepts for Remodeling a Master Bedroom

Three Great Concepts for Remodeling a Master Bedroom was written by Jeanette Joy Fisher and she says "Since it’s one of the places people spend the most time, one of the most satisfying home makeovers is the main bedroom. Here are three ideas for creating a dynamic new main bedroom space:

The Passion Boudoir

The French have always led the world in designing sexy bedrooms, and now homemakers all over the world have followed their lead and begun decorating their bedrooms for sex and sensuality..

Use emotionally appealing colors that will enhance your beauty and sensuousness. Be daring; use bold colors. Examples of seductive colors are rouge or lipstick reds, creamy peaches, and subtle pink tones.

Prints such as animals or florals can suggest exotic locales, and mirrors placed in unusual places can reflect seductive candlelight. Tropic plants add mystery, and dressing tables filled with feminine accessories and intimate objects create a romantic mood.

The Reading Room

For many people, the bedroom is a place to lounge and read a good book. If you're one of those people, you'll want to create a space that will enhance your reading pleasure. For instance, adding padded headboards will make it easy to maintain proper posture while reading.

When painting your reading room, choose soft colors that reflect light without glare and also support peaceful feelings. Good colors choices would be old world ivory, antique amber, sage green, or slate blue.

Soft, pliable pillows, luxurious Afghans or throws, paintings featuring wide-ranging vistas, and mirrors will promote private reflection and add feelings of indulgence. A comfortable lounge chair with a floor lamp and tea table also work great in a reading room.

Be sure to provide enough light for reading, which can be done without having to flood the room with harsh reading lights. You can enhance the overall light by placing softer lighting throughout the room.

The Private Sanctuary

This type of bedroom, designed to create a place where you retreat from the world and unwind, provides total privacy. Display photos of friends, family, and places you love. Also display meaningful mementos and souvenirs to remind you of happy times, but don't go overboard and clutter your calming serenity. Exchanging these personal keepsakes often with ones in storage helps counter the clutter and gives added significance when next viewed.

Colors that work well in private sanctuaries include navy or cobalt blues, deep chocolates, and forest greens. Darker colors create a womb or cave like feeling and aid deep sleep.

A writing desk, small refrigerator, and television all contribute to the feeling of being able to shut out the world and luxuriate in your own private space, without interruption.

You spend a great deal of time in your bedroom, so no matter what type of feeling you're trying to create, remodeling your main bedroom to reflect your lifestyle is one of the best projects to undertake.

9 Tips For Decorating A Master Bedroom

9 Tips For Decorating A Master Bedroom was written by Lee Dobbins and she says "It is important to remember when decorating a master bedroom that you create a space for you and your partner which is inviting and uncluttered. Below are a number of steps which you may wish to follow which will help you to achieve the perfect balance in your master bedroom.

1. Furniture. It is important that you make a decision on what kind of furniture your need for your room and then measure the room prior to making any purchases.

2. When buying dressers and chest of drawers for items that will sufficiently hold your clothing, lingerie, jewelry and bedroom linen. You can also use the tops of these for holding a TV or stereo if you have one in your bedroom..

3. If you have enough space consider purchasing an armoire (large upright chest with 2 or 4 doors) if you require tall storage space but not enough room to include a wardrobe in your design. A lot of the armoires now available come with a rod inside on which to hang your clothes as well as pull out tray on which a television, stereo or computer can be stood.

4. When looking for a nightstand select one that you can easily reach from your bed and has at least one draw in it to hold any belongings that you do no want continually on show.

5. Also consider purchasing a mirror as this will create the illusion of space in your room. However if you are purchasing one that will be stood on your dresser then measure the dresser width so that they match.

6. Buy a duvet or comforter cover for your bed so it feels cozy when you get in at night to sleep and select matching sheets and pillowcases to add that final finishing touch.

7. If you want to really add a nice finish touch to your master bedroom and great a little feel of luxury then include some decorative pillows as well.

8. The lighting in your master bedroom should be warm and inviting, however it should be bright enough so that you can read but soft enough that you feel comfortable and relaxed in your room.

9. Finally why not paint the walls to give them a fresh new look and why not go for colors that will match in with the overall design of your room. However, do not go for harsh colors as they will only make the room feel cold and uninviting when you step into.

Hopefully decorating a master bedroom will be much easier for you now by following some of the tips which are provided above.

5 Calming Bedroom Design Ideas

5 Calming Bedroom Design Ideas was written by Jennifer Thoden and she says "You probably already know that your bedroom should be your safe haven... your oasis... your special place.

It makes sense... I mean, after all, it is the place you end your day with and begin your day with.

Shouldn't your bedroom make you smile and feel comforted?

Well, if you choose to not be in your bedroom until it's dark outside, here are some bedroom design ideas that will create a calming, relaxing space..

1. Paint your bedroom in your favorite color.
Waking up to a color you love is the perfect way to start your day. Don't get so wrapped up in what a bedroom should be or shouldn't be. If you love orange, then paint your bedroom orange.

Or paint your bedroom in the complement of your favorite color and then add accents in your favorite color.
The complement is the color on the opposite side of the color wheel.
Red's complement is Green.
Blue's complement is Orange.
Yellow's complement is Purple.

So, if you love purple, maybe paint your walls lavendar and add yellow pillows and a vase of yellow tulips.

Just use colors you truly enjoy for a personal bedroom design.

2. Use one fabric, but use it everywhere.
Many people find it difficlut to coordinate different fabric patterns successfully. In fact, many bedroom design ideas become too busy with mixes of plaids and florals.

So, choose a fabric that matches your paint color and use it in your drapes... in your bedding... and even in an upholstered chair.

If you're really worried that this is too much of one fabric, then choose a solid fabric to go along with your main fabric.

3. Add candles and mood lighting.
Lighting can enhance a bedroom design far more than you may realize. Yes, you need lamps for task lighting, but to really create a bedroom that is glowing, soft and relaxing you need some mood lighting.

This can be created with candles, floor cans that project light upward from the floor, wall sconces and even picture lights.

4. Add soft textures
Keep in mind that the goal of your bedroom design idea is to calm and soothe. So, choose fabrics that are soft and cozy. Select silks, cottons and suedes. Even terry cloth can add an unexpected luxury.

Use lots of pillows for comfort, and visual interest.

5. Don't forget privacy
In the evenings, you shouldn't have to worry about privacy. Make sure your bedroom design ideas include window treatments that cover your windows at night. This will also close the room in and add to the coziness of the room.

Planning the perfect bedroom design idea doesn't have to be difficult.

Keep it personal, choose the colors and fabrics you like... select artwork that makes you smile and enjoy the decorating process.

Japanese Bedroom Design

Japanese Bedroom Design was written by Max Bellamy and he says "Japanese culture has always been a source of great curiosity and awe due to the serenity it evokes as a result of its simplicity and minimalism. Due to the stressfulness at the office, more and more homeowners have chosen to emulate the tranquility of Japanese bedroom design. Being in a Japanese inspired bedroom provides quietude and calmness, away from the bustle of the modern world.

In designing a Japanese-themed bedroom, one has to consider the salient aspects vital in Japanese design. Japanese bedrooms are marked by simplicity and minimalism for a pared-down look. Careful thought is put into Japanese bedroom designs. Each piece is carefully considered, not only for aestheticism, but, more importantly, for function. Moreover, furniture placing and type symbolize the Zen philosophy that the Japanese believe in..

Use of natural materials and natural light also defines Japanese style. Natural materials such as stones and wood are used for a low-key look that is equally appealing to the senses. Since natural light would be the main source of illumination, lighting fixtures are either concealed or recessed or are altogether minimized. The use of muted colors, such as greens and grays, are also helpful in minimizing visual "noise" and business, a vital aspect of achieving serenity and tranquility.

Furniture is also low and near the ground, not only to create the illusion of a bigger space but also to signify stability and comfort. Much emphasis is given to horizontal, rather than vertical, lines. This reminds us of our relation to the earth. Lack of ornamentation in wooden furniture is also a factor that sets Japanese bedroom design apart from all the rest. Japanese wood artisans rely on clean and simple lines to highlight their masterpieces. The same would hold true in the minimal use of accessories and décor in Japanese bedrooms in order to veer away from clutter and to focus on the inner self.

The Simplicity of Contemporary Bedroom Design

The Simplicity of Contemporary Bedroom Design was written by Daniel Vazquez and he says "If you have visited a number of different houses in different towns and/or cities, you might have gone to various bedrooms and noticed diversity in the way they are designed or set up. What is popular in interior design is following some sort of “theme” which is apparent throughout the entire house, but particularly in bedroom design. One such design that is evident in today’s houses is known as contemporary bedroom design.

How do you define contemporary bedroom design? The word “contemporary” simply means modern or current. So in essence, contemporary bedroom design means that it is a bedroom design that is more of a sign of the times. Design of bedrooms was very much different decades ago, more so centuries ago. Therefore, you may think of contemporary bedroom design as a relatively new school of thought in the world of interior design..

Life today is different than before. Today it is much busier and more industrialized. Cities are becoming overpopulated, which translates into more people needing places to live in. This is the reason why there are apartments and condominiums now for sale or for rent. In taking these things into consideration, contemporary bedroom design was born. The main idea in this school of thought is simplicity.

When you see a bedroom with contemporary design, you will notice that there are very few decorations (if none at all). Why so? Since simplicity is the key in contemporary bedroom design, the simpler it is, the better. Not much thought is placed on where the bed is set, where the chairs are, where the television is, other than where these are practical. In this type of bedroom design, there is a good amount of space in the middle of the room, and the furniture is placed in ideal locations, where it is easy for the person to go to (or where he prefers). Unlike other types of bedroom design wherein extra space is filled out with decors, the space in this form of design remains to be space.

The difference between contemporary bedroom design with other types of interior design is that others make use of decors to try to enhance the look. For example, in a country home, bedrooms usually have paintings or wallpapers that reflect nature, since the home is situated in an area surrounded by nature – trees, plants, animals, lakes, etc.

In a regular city home or apartment wherein the bedroom reflects contemporary design, it remains to be plain and stark in which simplicity is really evident. Another difference is the use of shapes. In contemporary bedroom design, a rectangular shape is primarily used. This shape is thought to be effective, but at the same time beautiful, which is why there is no emphasis on decors to be placed. In other forms of bedroom design, round shapes (including ovals) are more common.

The prevailing thought in today’s world is, the simpler it is, the better. This is not limited to certain things and holds true even in the realm of interior design, particularly in contemporary bedroom design. If you are a person looking to live in the city and are looking for a home or apartment, chances are that the bedroom was designed with simplicity in mind. You should not worry about it, since it reflects the mindset of modern culture in the world.

Online Bedroom Design: A Creativity Exercise

Online Bedroom Design: A Creativity Exercise was written by Daniel Vazquez and he says "Are you planning on having a house built? Are you planning a renovation on the current place you are living in? Are you planning on getting a vacation home somewhere in your favorite vacation spot? If yes is the answer to any of these questions, you might want to explore the idea of designing a bedroom of your house in advance.

You might want to do it so that it reflects your personality, or perhaps to just find out how creative you can be. You can do it even if you are not an architect or an interior designer; you don’t even need to hire one to do it for you. You can do this yourself, and all you need is a computer, Internet, and an imaginative mind. Yes, you can design a bedroom online..

There are websites out there that specifically deal with online bedroom design. They usually have previews for you to take a look at so you would have an idea on how to go about it. Or, if you are really prepared and would want to do it yourself, that is a legitimate option too. There are three important steps on how to design a bedroom online.

First, you need to see the color combinations you will use. Maybe you would like your room to be painted in blue. What shade of blue? There are hundreds of color combinations of shades of blue. Online bedroom design websites usually offer this option so you can mix and match which paint colors to use. You can also check to see the color combination of the walls with the flooring, ceiling, furniture, so you can have a “color preview” of what your bedroom will look like.

Next is the layout design. How big will your bedroom be? Where exactly will you place the furniture and other items such as the television, study table, restroom, doors, windows, and more? How big of the total space will they consume? You can answer all of these by properly designing the layout of your bedroom. If the first step deals with the color combinations, this second step deals with space and measurements. You can check to see how many pieces of furniture you can place and how big they are and if they can fit or not (or if they are ideal or not).

Finally, the design plan itself. Calculate your total expenses by placing all the necessary information in a design plan. Included here are the sizes of the doors, windows, flooring, amount of paint to be used, etc. When you complete these necessities, you will have an idea of how much you will spend for the construction of your bedroom. The design plan is not only important for the calculation of expenses, but also for the exact data of your room – you will know every detail there is.

You might want to venture into designing your own bedroom online. It is a creative exercise and the satisfaction you will receive when the finished product is revealed while knowing that you were the one that designed it cannot be put into words. Whatever your motive is in designing your own bedroom, whether it is to reflect your personality or so you can test your creativity, it will be a fun thing to do. Remember, it is simple enough that all you need is a computer, Internet, and an imaginative mind.

Feng Shui Bedroom Design Guidelines

Feng Shui Bedroom Design Guidelines was written by Charles Chang and he says "Feng shui (pronounced “fung shway”) is the ancient Chinese Art of arrangement and placement of things within certain principles in order to balance the energies of the environment for improved health, prosperity and good fortune.

The principles of Feng shui can be applied to every aspect of our daily life. If you are building your own home, Feng shui could be incorporated right from the initial stages beginning with the orientation of the house with regards to the property. Every tenet of Feng shui is based on some scientific belief, which if adhered to as much as possible could lead to a harmonious peaceful existence..

The bedroom is the most important part of the house. It is a place where we escape to at the end to the day. Our sanctum sanctorum that we run to, to de-stress and refresh. It should be peaceful and comforting and relaxing. Feng shui lays much emphasis on the placement and decorating of the bedroom. The location of the bedroom in the house is just as important as the contents of the bedroom.

According to the principles of Feng shui all the “restful” energy lies at the rear of the home, which makes it the perfect location for a bedroom. The bedroom should be connected to the rest of the house through only one door as this helps contain the restful energy within the bedroom and stops it from rushing out.

The bedroom should preferably not be built above the garage as it causes unrestfullness. To offset this, heavy solid objects should be placed on the floor or a mirror should hang on the garage ceiling in such a way that it deflects the image of the car away from the bedroom. If the bedroom is located below the kitchen, place a mirror on the bedroom ceiling, reflecting downward. This helps seal off the hustle and bustle emanating from the kitchen. The bedroom should be connected to the bathroom by a door, which should be kept closed at all times.

Since the bedroom is a place to rest and relax in, all negative energies should be removed from this room. You should not keep any electronic audio or video gadget such as a TV, computer or music system in the bedroom as these release energies that are conflicting and not restful. Mirrors are another thing that should be avoided in the bedroom. If you need to have one, make sure it is not in direct line with your bed. Mirrors are said to cause nightmares by reflecting your negative energy while you sleep. The same goes for all other reflecting surfaces such as computer screens or framed pictures and paintings.

The bedroom and all its furniture and accessories should be done up in pastel and muted colors, and you should indulge in soft satiny sheets and pillows as these induce a peaceful and restful atmosphere. Loud, bright colors are too energizing and could be kept for other rooms. The bedroom should be as clutter-free as possible so that CHI energy can flow freely and bestow you with its good vibrations.

Bedroom Design

Bedroom Design was written by Bowe Packer and he says "For something such as a bedroom design you'll want to think long and hard about precisely what it is that you're going to do. Sure you know that you want to redecorate your chamber but before you do anything too drastic you should decide what type of redesigning you want to do. You could literally get overwhelmed as to where to start. Just take a deap breath and move forward on your vision of the new room with it's new look. Remember that it doesn't need to be anything dramatic or unusual because in the end you will have live with it, and unless you're conformable to remodel your new bedroom design and change it altogether.

In which case you can play around and find out precisely what you like at your leisure and not vex about whether the furnishings you bought would suit. But a flock of people won't be able to do that and they will need to fall back to doing it the old fashioned way, or of course you have another option, and that's to recourse to the use of home decorating software. Software puts most of the visualization into perspective, especially with bedroom design..

If you don't want to go that road either you always have the choice of doing it the old fashioned way. With this method you might not get as much visualisation as with the others but you can still accomplish great results. The problem here is that sometimes it's very difficult to see what the end outcome of your bedroom design will be like.

The best way to start is to get a pencil and a piece of paper and to mark out very close to what your room shape is. If you have trouble visualizing it then move into the bedroom and see what results you get. Next you should mark out the most visible aspects of the existing bedroom design which will be unchangeable, like doors and windows. Remember, stay objective and just pencil in what is currently existing and not what your mind might be seeing.

After that it's a hop, skip and a jump to go on to the next step which is to play more or less on paper where you would like the heavier furnishings to go. And if you want to keep them where they are that's also fine because your bedroom design should be one that you're going to be pleased with. One that you feel comfortable in because after all it is you and possibly your mate that will be spending the time there.

Then ideally you should settle down on a color scheme. It doesn't need to be the same as the one in your existing bedroom design, it might be nice if you can change the whole thing round and turn the whole room on its head. After you settle on a color scheme there is only way to go and that is forward.

Start purchasing the new trappings and fittings you'll need to fit in with your new bedroom design and just put it into place. And since you have everything you need to change some in your old bedroom design, you can take your time and rearrange everything at your leisure. See what fits best where and whether you need to add a little something extra. Now, it's just a matter of settling in and fetching a good look at the bedroom design that you did, and enjoying the new trappings and new fittings.

Basement Bedroom Ideas to Fit Any Budget

Basement Bedroom Ideas to Fit Any Budget was written by Carlo Morelli and he says "Those with expanding families or who are looking to increase the overall value of their home often begin looking into a variety of basement bedroom ideas. The basement can be an excellent space for expansion and is generally less expensive to remodel than adding on to a home. Fortunately, great basement bedroom ideas are easy to come by and to create with just a little creativity and careful planning.

Drywall

After sifting through a variety of great basement bedroom ideas, you will need to give your new space walls. Some homeowners choose to simply place paneling on the walls of the existing basement. While this is an option, it will result in walls that have a thin and flimsy feel to them. The best choice for putting walls up in the basement bedroom is to install drywall. These walls can then be wallpapered or painted any color to match the style and taste of the person who will be using the basement bedroom. Or, paneling can later be installed over the drywall if desired. Installing drywall as a base will result in sturdier walls that are also more capable of holding wall decorations or shelving to add that personal touch to the bedroom.

Carpeting

If the basement has not yet been finished, it most likely has a concrete floor. Concrete flooring has a tendency to be cold on the feet in the morning. To avoid this uncomfortable possibility, carpeting should be your final step in creating your fantastic basement bedroom ideas.

Carpet squares are a great choice for completing your basement bedroom ideas because they are easy to install and come complete with padding and a moisture barrier. To properly install carpet squares, you need to first measure the area carefully. You want to determine the layout of the carpet panels ahead of time so you avoid having small slivers of carpeting at the ends of the room. To cut carpet panels to size, use a utility knife and cut through all layers of the square. Be sure to butt the panels close to each other and prevent fibers from getting trapped between squares. When finished, vacuum the floor to help remove the lines between carpet panels and, voila!, your basement bedroom is finished.

8 Bedroom Feng Shui Important Considerations

Bedroom Feng Shui: 8 Important Considerations was written by Kathryn Weber and she says "1.Color and design are critical.
Paint bedrooms with calm, soothing colors. Good color choices for bedrooms are skin colors: yellows, browns, taupes, pinks, or beige. Avoid blue or dark-colored ceilings, wallpaper with plants or flowers (a feng-shui no-no for bedrooms), actual plants or flowers in the bedroom, or water elements, such as fish, lakes, or water.

2.The bed is where it’s at.
Make sure the bed is at the widest part of the room and the door to the room can be seen from the bed. This is a critical feng shui element. Bed placement is extremely important especially if the bed is placed on the same wall as the bedroom door. This will bring serious disagreements for the couple..

The bed should also not face a bathroom, see a toilet, share the same wall as a toilet, or be directly opposite a door. It’s also best if the bed doesn’t face a closet or bookshelves of some kind.

Also, be sure to give yourself some support. Beds that have the headboard to a window give little support. If this is the best (or only) position for the bed, place a wooden screen between the bed and the window to simulate a wall or hang heavy drapes that can be closed at night.

Headboards are best if they are solid. Iron bars can create headaches and lack of support. Lastly, don’t go out without making your bed. Really, now, how hard is it to make a bed?

3.Look Up.
Got a ceiling fan whirring above your bed? Lots of us do. This could be cooling you down… literally and romantically. Ceiling fans above the bed disrupt your body’s chi (energy) -- and your romantic chi. You also might avoid turning on the fan for a week and see what happens… who knows? If you are trying to conceive, turn the fan off altogether.

4.Look down.
If there's junk piled under the bed, remove it. Store soft items such as winter clothes, blankets, or pillows, if you just have to. Be absolutely sure there are no dangerous items such as guns, knives, or other harsh instruments under the bed. These harm your health, your romance, and your sleep.

5.Remove reflections.
Mirrors and televisions should not be in the bedroom -- or any reflective surfaces. This creates disruptive chi in the bedroom that harms sleep -- or creates divorces.

6.Decorate sparingly.
Decorating the room correctly is important. Look at all the elements here to get more ideas about appropriate decorating for your romantic retreat.

Absolutely no plants, water, and flowers in the bedroom. Take all plants, flowers, and water features out of the bedroom. Water and plants can drown the energy in a bedroom. Even pictures featuring water, ice, or snow are poor bedroom decorating choices.

Flowers give off too much male (yang) energy, also making a poor choice for a restful bedroom. Dried flowers should be removed as they are dead energy. Seeing or hearing water from the bed (view of the bathroom, maybe?) can create financial problems and sinus/respirator problems.

7. Remove objects of work.
These can be treadmills or other exercise equipment, desks, computers, bookshelves filled with work-related books, or objects that remind either of you of something to do. Even hobbies and projects are not good choices for your love nest.

8. Keep it clean.
The bedroom is the place where you restore yourself after a long day. It should be clean and neat. Make sure it is cleaned regularly, or you can expect problems with health or finances. This also includes closets in your bedroom. Make sure they are neat and that you can find what you are looking for quickly.

Lastly, make needed repairs. Ask yourself if your room is in good working order? Is the carpet coming up or do the windows stick? Your room must function well on all levels. This includes making sure the door opens and closes correctly – and locks, too! Oil creaky door hinges.

Finding TRUE Love with Bedroom Feng Shui

Bedroom Feng Shui -- Finding TRUE Love with Feng Shui was written by Carole Provenzale and she says "Spending yet another holiday alone? It can start getting pretty bleak looking and for some reason, New Years Eve can be a killer. I wonder how many of you have taken any Feng Shui steps to attract not only a person into your life, but finding the RIGHT person. Don’t give up, they may be just around the corner. And I have many clients who can attest to the powers of Feng Shui to find that special someone.

I think of Nancy, a recent client who called me to her home. Nancy wasn’t looking for just anyone who came along that was breathing, she wanted someone on the same wavelength who was going to enhance her life, not add on to the stress we all have..

Nancy is a particularly mindful person. She is very much in tune with Intention, The Laws of Attraction, and things that can’t be seen or heard, namely Energy Work. She was (despite all odds and going against the criticism and negativity she was encountering) looking to change careers as well; at the age of 42 she wanted to become an actress.

Among the many other things we discussed during the consultation, these were the things I focused on with her. I showed her career section which was her main entrance and explained that it was almost completely blocked by hedges that had gotten out of control. Since it is her main entrance to her home, it is also the Mouth of Chi and explained why we needed to address that. And I was able to give her some simple and easy methods to get her career moving inside her home as well.

She is my idea of a “perfect” client. She listens, she understands the reasons and carries out the changes with the best of Intentions which is the main component of Feng Shui. And changes will happen of which she is not doubtful.

We also looked at many areas of her home including her “romance” areas from an outdoor perspective and special emphasis on her bedroom. It seems that her outside Romance area was the corner of the house thought of as “The dumping ground.” Meaning where old firewood was stored and things that weren’t used were put there “temporarily” until she could find a way to get rid of them. In this case, temporarily had become two years.

When I explained this was her romance area and it needed to be cleaned and activated, a light when off in her head. It was no wonder she hadn’t attracted anyone. She took immediate steps to get rid of all the junk that had accumulated and address the area for romance. Both outdoors and indoors we have special options we can use but major principles we always use are the color pink and to “think in twos.” Outdoors this can be a statue of any two like objects enhanced or containing the color pink. Since the area was stagnant, we could also use a moving object there, our Intention being to move someone special right into our lives.

Remember when using anything moving, once we’ve gotten things moving in the area we have chosen, we want to move the moving object as we now want to stabilize the area and intentionally weigh it down. We don’t want this new, wonderful person moving right back out! Weighing it down can simply include a rock or paperweight with the Intention we now want to keep this area just as it is.

We also looked closely at her bedroom. It was unbalanced, contained pictures of others or herself, alone (a Feng Shui no-no) and I advised her how to balance the room simply and inexpensively (many clients are on a strict budget) and suggested one of my favorite things to attract the Right person. I suggest they use a heart shaped (pink if possible) picture frame with her on one side and a silhouette on the other. On the back of the silhouette I asked her to write down qualities she absolutely had to have in a partner. She understood the very act of taking the time to infuse this area with her Intentions would not just draw anyone into her life, but someone special.

Our consultation was during the summer, but she and I keep up; relationships I make with what were once clients become so much more, they oftentimes become true friends in every sense of the word. Her last email to me was SO positive. She had just gotten an acting job at a nearby playhouse and as I was reading, I was hoping someone had come to see the play and she’d end up on Broadway…. Not yet, but she did say the last day of the play a very nice single man that she had worked with came over to her with a Rose and invited her to dinner.

These are the kind of wonderful emails or calls I am fortunate enough to get more often then not! And that is the love of this work. For you singles out there who want a special person, not just a breathing one, follow the advice and simple steps and then step back while keeping a positive attitude. Nancy’s story is not the exception, it is the Rule of the Laws of Attraction and The Power of Intention and all the wonderful things Feng Shui can help you accomplish in your life.

Bedroom Feng Shui

Bedroom Feng Shui was written by Max Bellamy and he says "Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art, where placement of objects in a room depends on the movement of chi or natural energy of our environment. Based on the patterns of nature, a Feng shui master will tell us where to place every individual object in our home or workplace. A master will also provide advice on how a building should be positioned on a property. Feng Shui shows us how to support the flow of energy in our lives for better health and prosperity.

The best location for a bedroom, according to Feng Shui is in the rear of the home. This is where it is said that all "restful" energy lies. In order to preserve this energy the bedroom should have only one door connecting it to the rest of the house. It is best that the bedroom is not located over a garage. If it is, to preserve a restful sleep, one must use heavy solid objects on the floor or hang a mirror on the garage ceiling so that it will reflect the image of the car away from the bedroom. If a kitchen is located over the bedroom, place a mirror on the ceiling of the bedroom reflecting downward, sealing off the bustling activities occurring in the kitchen..

There should always be a door connecting the bedroom and the bathroom, and the door should always be kept closed. Feng Shui recommends not having a television in the bedroom as it causes less interactions between couples. If one is present, it should be covered when not in use. A work station in the bedroom is also discouraged as is exercise equipments because these release opposite energies than that of restful energy.

Mirrors in a bedroom can be a problem as they are said to reflect one's negative energy when one is sleeping, thereby causing nightmares. This principle applies to any object that reflects like paintings, computer screens or metal surfaces.

Feng Shui recommends that a person sleep with legs facing away from the door because such a position is referred to as the "coffin" position. Colors in the bedroom should be subtle, as should the colors of bedroom furniture. Clean up clutter in the bedroom including closets for good energy.

Bedrooms are rooms to go to for peace and relaxation. To distract negative energy Feng Shui encourages a good circulation of natural energy and plenty of fresh air.

Bedrooms provides detailed information about bedrooms, bedroom furniture, bedroom sets, bedroom accessories, and more. Bedrooms is the sister site of Carpet Cleaning Machines.

Quick Planning for Your Bedroom Decor

Quick Planning for Your Bedroom Decor was written by Lester Fong and he says "The essence of good bedroom decorating starts with planning. This is all the more important since we spend about a third of our lives in bed. So let’s have a look at….

• Occupants – the number of occupants will determine the accessibility of the bedroom space as well as the size of the bed. For example, you may have to choose from a double bed or a king-sized bed for 2 occupants. In turn, this also affects the space in which you position the bed..

• Light – this should be well-controlled with curtains and blinds during the day and with artificial light during the night.

• Power Point – the positions of power and phone sockets will affect the positioning of lamps, phones and entertainment systems. Thus, it is important to map out these sockets to plan their placement.

• Storage – a well designed wardrobe system is more than just adequate shelves for clothing and accessories. It also puts everything at arm’s reach, and allows you to see where your things are. Where possible, go for built-in storage. It not only provides efficient storage but gives the room a sleek pulled-together look as well as eliminates the need to fill the room with furniture. Remember too, that beds should never be placed within the arc of wardrobe doors or opening drawers.

10 Exciting Bedroom Decorating Ideas

10 Exciting Bedroom Decorating Ideas was written by Melisa Verch and she says "Your bedroom is your sanctuary so you want it to be delightful and inviting. Here are 10 great ideas to inspire you to create the bedroom of your dreams.

1. Using Accents In Your Bedroom - The most delightful accent is to make generous use of decorative pillows. Pile your bed high with them using a variety of sizes and styles, colors and patterns. Layered pillows give a lush feel to any bedroom. Candles serve a dual purpose as an accent item. They can add a splash of color and they can give a wonderful mood altering scent. The scent of your bedroom really is quite important, so the judicious use of potpourri can be the perfect finishing touch..

2. A Lovely Idea For A Little Girl's Room - Bring wonder and enchantment to your little girl's room by using specialty lighting. A small decorative chandelier is quite affordable. Your little princess will be filled with joy as she gazes into the sparkling light.

3. An Interesting Use Of Neutrals - Decorate your bedroom with neutrals and you can constantly achieve a fresh look. There are many items within a bedroom that you can adapt with each season. Change your comforter, pillows and pictures to easily achieve new looks and color schemes on a regular basis.

4. A Fun Idea In Place Of A Picture - Personalizing your decor is what will make your bedroom unique. Instead of a picture, gather small momentos around a theme and display them in a shadow box. (A shadow box is simply a picture frame with depth.) As a theme, you could use items from all those music lessons you took as a child, or maybe keepsakes from the first dates with your husband - like ticket stubs and the cupie doll he won for you. You will feel the warmth of memories every time you see it.

5. Making The Most Of Your Bedroom Space - To create more space, your first consideration is color. Use cool light colors - whites, blues and greens to make the walls apparently recede. Another trick to help your space look larger is to paint the moldings to match the walls. Be very aware of the scale of your furniture. A small bedroom is simply not the place for a king-sized bed. Keep things clutter free and you'll make the most of your livable space.

6. Pull Together A Theme - For a different look, try to replicate a favorite Hawaiian or tropical vacation you've enjoyed. Start with a bamboo headboard and plan on an island color scheme with bold prints. You can use plenty of plants to recreate the lush outdoors. Stick with natural fabrics and add a quality potpourri to remind you of your heaven on earth. A final touch would be naturally woven wood blinds. You will amaze yourself with the atmosphere you can create.

7. Using Bedding To Help Design - There are amazing colors and prints available for bedding. A decorating trick is to use your bedding to dictate your color scheme. Go for the most plush comforters and highest thread count sheets. You want your bedroom to be so inviting and desirable to you, that it beckons you every evening.

8. Contemporary Bedroom Design Ideas - To accomplish the popular contemporary design, try neutrals with nice accent colors, such as a muted navy. The idea is to stay crisp and clean. Florals don't belong in this look. Go for a minimum of clutter and you'll be well on your way.

9. Guest Bedroom Essentials - Part of offering great hospitality is to make your guest bedroom feel completely welcoming. On the night stand, have a spate of new magazines along with a water glass and a decorative bowl filled with candy. Your guests may be more cold-natured than you, so include an extra blanket on the bed. Finally, use high quality pillows and sheets to let them know that their comfort is paramount.

10. Creating A Romantic Bedroom - There is nothing as delightful as a bedroom that invites romance. Have soft lighting available and think plush - with lots of pillows and fabrics to give tactile pleasures. An excellent sound system with speakers discreetly tucked around the room will envelope you with mood-setting music. Use colors on the softer side which appeal to you personally. Try soft pinks or light greens - whichever color pleases you. The idea is surround yourself with luxury to create the perfect romantic retreat.

6 Cheap Bedroom Decorating Ideas

6 Cheap Bedroom Decorating Ideas was written by Kathy Burns-Millyard and she says "When you're looking for ways to redecorate your bedroom easily and cheaply, you might feel at a loss of where to start. It's easy to do though, and here are six quick decorating ideas for your bedroom that won't break your budget:

1. Move the Furniture - Yes, something as simple as rearranging the room can make a huge difference in how it feels. This is one of the easiest ways I know of to make a room feel new... and it doesn't cost a dime.

Try putting your bed in a corner instead of against a wall too, this gives the room a more homey, intimate, and elegant touch..

2. Change the Walls - The most common way to change your walls of course, is to simply paint them. And it doesn't really matter if you paint them a new color, or simply put a fresh coat on - both will make major differences in how the room feels. You don't have to actually paint the walls to make them different though. You could instead put up an attractive wallpaper border, or stencil some designs on as a border instead. Borders can be placed at the very top of the walls, or around the middle area instead, to create a more old fashioned, rich and elegant look.

3. Change the Bed - Buy a new comforter, duvet, or bedspread. Better yet: Buy an entire new set complete with sheets and pillow shams. If you're not able to buy an entire set, then get just one or two items. The bed covering and pillow shams make the largest difference, so I'd suggest starting with those.

4. Hang Prints on the Wall - The idea here is to put framed prints on your wall. These can be photographs, artwork, or even posters. They don't have to be expensive, and in fact you may already own photos or prints that just need new frames or mats.

Some people like to create wall hanging arrangements of family photos in their bedroom, but I personally dislike that idea. The bedroom is a private place, and having the feeling that family members are watching you there can be disconcerting and uncomfortable.

5. Put out vases of silk flowers/floral greenery - This is extremely easy to do and you don't have to be a design wizard to create floral arrangements. Just find a pretty vase, glass or jar - if you don't have one on hand they're extremely cheap to buy. Then buy a handful of pretty silk or plastic flowers and greenery. There's no mystery to buying these either, simply choose greenery that you like, and flowers that compliment the colors in your room.

The colors don't have to match exactly either. If you find beautiful silk white flowers for instance, and your room is primarily decorated in blue, then add a sprig of small blue flowers to the white ones and they'll enhance the room perfectly.

6. Put in a new lamp - Bedside lamps are particularly cozy, and they're useful as well. Small bedside lamps or even nightlights can be quite inexpensive when you shop around for them. You could also put new wall sconces about your bed, dresser, or on either side of a wall mirror for additional elegance.

Ideas For Bedroom Decorating Themes

Ideas For Bedroom Decorating Themes was written by Lee Dobbins and he says "The idea of having a themed bedroom which includes matching furniture, walls, linen etc should not just be limited to a child's bedroom but it can also be done to an adult room as well. In this article we will look at some bedroom decorating themes which you may wish to consider when redecorating the bedrooms in your own home.

The best thing about decorating and interior design is that it gives you a great chance to not only exercise your creativity but express your personality and that of the person whose room your are decorating on it..

Many children nowadays love to have a room that is themed and the most popular themes around are:-

Animals – Jungle or Nature especially Cowboys

Fairies – Including princesses, fairy tales or other mythical creatures Dinosaurs

Space – Including starts, rockets etc.

Sports – They may want a football, basketball or baseball themed room. Some even go for the motor sport theme to their rooms.

It is best when deciding upon a theme for a child’s room that they let them be involved with the decision as they will not only prefer the end result it will also give them a sense of ownership and responsibility (which may well encourage them to keep the room clean and tidy).

However it is important to remember that child’s taste changes rapidly and so it is important that you choose a theme that they will enjoy growing up in. So rather than choosing a specific theme go for a more general theme instead.

As for an adult bedroom there is no reason why it should not be theme in the same way as you would with a child’s. Although most adults do prefer a much more subtle approach. Generally adult bedroom themes to be more general or abstract rather than specifically based around a certain theme.

Such themes that you may well consider are as follows for an adult bedroom.

Zen – which provides a peaceful haven for the person whose room it is.

Gothic – This can certainly add interest to a bedroom, but remember it needs a room with lots of space because of the use of dark and bold colours in it.

Rustic – This provides a very country look and is well suited to older style homes.

So as you can see there are a wide variety of bedroom decorating themes available but why not spend some time looking on the internet or in decorating magazines to find a design which you feel suits your personality or the personality of the person whose room is being decorated.

Bedroom Decorating Styles

Bedroom Decorating Styles was written by Andrew Caxton and he says "Have you been thinking of redecorating your bedroom but you do not have any idea on what style to go for? There is such a massive range to choose from, it can be a very daunting task choosing the best style for your room.

One thing that you should remember is that a bedroom is one place that you should be able to fully relax. Without the right style and balance, it may look cluttered and it can affect the way that you sleep. Also, the furniture needs to be arranged the right way as well to create that great look. If the bedroom looks like any of the other rooms in the house or cluttered, it will keep your mind distracted from relaxing and sleeping..

Do You Need Inspiration When it Comes to Bedroom Decorating Styles?

Finding inspiration for your bedroom is quite easy to come by. You could find ideas that you like in a magazine, on a home improvement show, or even in the shops with a display. The only problem you are faced with is what should you choose for your bedroom and what you think will suit you the best. Everyone has their own tastes but a good thing to go for is a nice relaxing color and not something that is too vivid. Home improvement shows are always a great idea to get the inspiration you need and they even show you how to achieve a certain look which is very handy as well.

Have You Thought of Wallpaper Decorating Styles?

Some people like to paint their rooms and others may decide to go for wallpaper. If you are bored of paint, wallpaper may be a different way of decorating your bedroom. There is once again a huge selection of different wallpapers from the basic to the more luxurious ones which vary in quality and price. But it is better to go for something that is soothing to the eyes and something that will leave you feeling relaxed. It is always best to shop around in order to find the best design for your bedroom.

Stuck For Bedroom Decorating Style Ideas? Try a Consultant.

You may have looked around and still feel like you are no further forward. If this is the case, it may be worth calling in an interior designer who will be able to help you. There will be a consultation fee but it is worth it especially if you are not going anywhere fast.

Modern Bedroom Decorating For Sleek Contemporary Style

Modern Bedroom Decorating For Sleek Contemporary Style was written by Lee Dobbins and says "The most popular way of decorating a bedroom today is in the modern style as it allows for the clearest spaces and which provides you with the simplest maintenance regime (especially for those who do not have time to be cleaning all the time). Modern Bedroom decorating is very simple and easy to do and by following the few pointers below you should be able to achieve the modern look you are after.

1. Remove all signs of clutter and chaos from the room (if you don't have the space in your room then store it elsewhere or get rid of it all together). What you are looking to achieve in your modern bedroom is straight lines and organization instead..

2. The furniture you use when decorating a modern bedroom should be plain in either a dark wood or black paint finish. They should also be straight with no curves or ornate markings on them. The reason for using dark furnishings is so that the room has a elegant and sophisticated feel to it. Also you should only use a few pieces prominently displayed in the room.

3. In order to contrast the dark furniture you have in your bedroom you should use very stark colours. Normally a modern room will have whites, greens, blacks and reds as the colours to accentuate the furniture.

4. Do not include throw pillows, blankets in your modern bedroom design as less is more with this style.

The reason why some many bedrooms are decorated now in the modern style is people enjoy the simplicity of the design. It is vital to remember that you should carefully plan any design for your modern bedroom look and that there is no room for additional clutter and it is important that you add the least amount to your room in order to make the biggest impact and hopefully the ideas above will help you in achieving this.

So why not looking at some other modern bedroom decorating ideas by searching the internet and you will be amazed at just what you can find.

Modern Bedroom Furniture

Modern Bedroom Furniture was written by Kristy Annely and she says "Bedroom furniture consists of a bed, nightstands, cupboards, dressing tables, wardrobes and mirrors. There could also be a television or a music set. Bedroom furniture typically uses cool colors which add to the coziness of the room. Even the lighting in bedrooms is mostly kept dim to create an ambient atmosphere.

The big difference between bedroom furniture and furniture in the rest of the house is that bedroom furniture is not usually seen by visitors. Bedroom furniture is considered part of the private life of the owner. Furniture used in the bedroom has the potential to influence the mindset of the person using the bedroom..

That said, the basic purpose of bedroom furniture is to provide coziness and relaxation. A person may look forward to going to his or her bedroom after an especially grueling day. At the same time, bedroom furniture must be easily accessible and usable without much effort.

Beds are the most integral components of bedroom furniture. Going by modern trends, beds are available in not only rectangular and square designs, but also circular, oval or any other abstract shapes. The mattress of the bed is highly important and it must be ergonomic to the person using it. Beds are available in four standard sizes – king size, queen size, double and twin. The size of a bed is selected depending on the size of the bedroom. An ideal bed would be one with tiny drawers and places to keep nightstands for people who enjoy reading in bed.

Wardrobes are generally attached to bedroom walls. They must not be too large, but must be able to hold all the clothes of the user. Wardrobes may have mirrors on their doors to help a person in dressing up. Similarly, dressers are important in a bedroom. Dressing tables are wide enough to accommodate cosmetic material with a mirror and a stool.

People usually order their bedroom furniture in bulk. The reason behind this is to make all components match each other. Even abstract shapes should have a sense of homogeneity. There must be an intelligent blend of colors and patterns to make the bedroom furniture appealing. Hence, it is prudent to give the order for the entire bedroom furniture at the same time to the same contractor.

Modern Bedrooms

Modern Bedrooms was written by Max Bellamy and he says "Bedrooms satisfy more than just our need for sleep and rest. They provide a sense of comfort and refuge from our busy days at work and play. They become our sanctuary, our haven, no matter what our style preference may be.

The countless styles in decorating our homes are only limited by our imagination. For those who take on a thematic approach in the overall design of their homes, be assured that bedroom furniture and accessories have reached their paramount, offering a wide variety of styles to fit your needs, style and even budget constraints..

Modern bedrooms are all the rage nowadays, owing to their space saving efficiency and sleek, chic style. Modern bedrooms reflect what feng shui espouses - clutter free and clean. And after a busy day in the office, what can be better than relaxing in a serene setting with modern spunk? More and more modern furniture, room accessories and bedding are available that reflect modern style.

Modern bedroom furniture is defined by classic lines and shapes in darker wood. The accessories include lamps, rugs and carpets and are marked by their simplicity and functionality. While bedding can come in a variety of inviting, subdued colors, bold shades definitely evoke modern style. Mixing and matching modern pieces with purpose foremost in mind will only result in a modern, inviting retreat.

Though criticized for its lack of warmth, countless people have personalized modern bedrooms to evoke serenity and not stark industrialism. What usually comes to mind when modern bedrooms are discussed are sterile spaces, bright lights and uncomfortable furniture in metal, reminiscent of museums, art galleries, or (god forbid) hospitals! Yet, modern bedrooms are made more inviting and plush amidst sleek industrial furniture based on several decorating factors. Using the right colors that reflect modern decorating style, choosing and framing modern art pieces, and minimizing clutter makes modern style very inviting and comfortable.
